Pulsed Field Ablation
I had the flu early Dec. which caused paroxysmal Afib with RVR and very symptomatic. I just had a PFA on 1/21. I’m on 240mg Diltaizem, 150mg Flecainide and 10mg Eliquis and have a follow up mid April. I’ve had bad side effects from the meds but know they are keeping me out of afib. When will I feel better after the PFA?

@ltb7 The modern bluetooth monitors are not entirely hassle-free, but in my experience they are fairly easy to manage and unobtrusive, I too have been prescribed a 2 week monitor, which I'm currently wearing, and for the large part I forget I have it,

1 Reaction@osgilian, how did your appointment with the electrophysiologist (EP) go? Are you eligible for ablation?

1 Reaction@colleenyoung My appointment went very well, thanks. I am indeed eligible for ablation and went onto the ASAP list. I'm going in on Monday (23rd), so fingers crossed🤞

4 ReactionsI had an a PFA on 11.24/25; after my ablation, my EP took me off Cardizem and Flecainide with only Eliquis and hydrochlorothyazinde for B/P. Since then I went back to a very small dose of Amlodipine at 3 months. Are you really certain you need all that to control the B/P? Do you check your blood pressure regularly at home? You should not be having debilitating side effects from these meds. If you don't tolerate them well, there are alternatives or dosage adjustments. I would definitely ask for a followup appt. sooner. These are powerful meds and why suffer unnecessarily?
