Insomnia, depression, anxiety
So here I am it’s 4 am I have been awake since 3 am I often wake up. I can’t go back to sleep. I can’t text my friends I could be they would ask why I was texting so early. I tried my usual sleepy time tea, Clonazepam, deep breathing etc etc and I still wake up! I remember when I was I in the hospital I would call the nurse and I would have morphine injected into my IV port and that would help me sleep. I can’t have morphine. OxyContin also made me sleepy. Can’t have that anymore I ran out. It would be so nice if I could get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Maybe someday.

Hello, When I was going through Breast cancer my doctor asked if I was sleeping well. She explained that cancer will affect your sleep and prescribed Trazodone. I have never slept so well in my entire life. It's a deep sleep and I feel great the next day. I hope this helps. 🌷

2 ReactionsFor anxiety, my therapist prescribed Alpha Stim. Works wonders if you have to use is continuously. Down side, you have to pay out of pocket as its not a drug.
I also take Magnesium oxide for sleep, 250 mg.
And drink chamomile tea at night.
The Alpha Stim also works for insomnia and depression.
Because I take Tamoxifen for breast cancer, all the above help with managing side effects. I do not want more meds, trying alternatives has worked out.

1 Reaction@kayraymat just a word about trazadone. While (for Me) it helps me fall asleep but not stay asleep so by 3 and the third wake sleep cycle I am up for the day. Side effects blurry vision and balance issues made it not worth taking. Too great a risk of falling for a 79 year old woman.

I am having balance issues today but I think it is Vertigo.
I am glad I read your note as I am on my way to the doctor now
as I forgot how to do the maneuver to balance the crystals
in your head to help with Vertigo....& now I will also ask
about Trazadone effects. I had Vertigo a number of years ago
before I started taking Trazadone so we will see what he says.
I am 70+
@esollars I also have anxiety and depression. Take Lexapro, Buspar and Mirazapine. The Lexapro and Mirtazapine before bed, and am able to sleep through the night.
@ashleyharris728 CBT worked for me -- I did it myself-on-me -- even tho I was offered it thru a therapist. It was gone in one day -- even though it had caused me seriously by choking me at an early dawn.
I felt good about doing it Myself -- nature is our ally if we follow its basics and CBT is essentially Thinking Things Through.
It was over ten years ago
@kaliope I have tried those and they worked for a brief stint. How quickly did your meds kick in and help?
@esollars still having anxiety during the day,but sleeping through the night. I think it’s the Mirtazapine that helps. And it started working within a week or Two. I take 15mg at night.
@kaliope glad for you that you found something that works for you. Have you found anything that helps during the day?
