Exciting Improvements on Connect

We've been listening and working hard to make improvements to Connect in response to your feedback.
Today we're excited to release a significant set of improvements. They are now live and ready for you to use. Well... maybe not quite perfectly ready. You see, with technology comes glitches. So you may notices changes, but also some things are working perfectly yet.

Here are two of several things I'll be introducing you to over the next few days.

1. My Profile, Bookmarks and Account Settings
The new Profile page allows you to make your profile page more meaningful for other members to get to know you. You can:

  • Add a background image.

  • Include a brief summary about yourself. What do you want people to know?

  • File your Bookmarks. Have you ever read a message that you'd like to bookmark? Keep them all in one place to find them easily.

  • Follow Groups and Pages.

  • Set your Notification Preferences more easily and with more options such as by email and digest, digest only, on site notifications only, no notifications

2. Daily Digest
One of the most significant improvements will be your Daily Digest. The items you follow will be better organized. The more you tailor your settings to follow specific groups, the more tailored your digest will be.
Please note: you will not receive a Digest on May 11. The new digest will re-start to show up in your inbox early morning on Friday, May 12.

Here's where to find your Profile page on a laptop or computer

@rosysharon

I'm relatively new here, but when I read that there were 6 updates, for example, to the Bones, Joints & Muscles Group, I have to go all the way to the end to find the most recent comments. Is this something I can change in my profile?

@rosysharon In your profile settings you can choose what groups if any, that you would like to receive notifications about. You can choose to be notified via email when someone posts within that group or choose to only receive the Daily Digest., which highlights all posts made in the group. Of course you can 'opt out' of all email notifications.
This latest update does not include the ability to take you to the post itself, just the thread on which it was made. The joys of technology!
I'd be happy to help if you need more information.

It just seems like it would be much easier for all those following groups to have the most recent post first rather than going to the end of the comments, wherever that may be (wastes a little bit of time). Might try the email way, if that takes you to the post itself - although you seemed to indicate that it doesn't.

Good afternoon my name is Moni and I was reading your remarks I just want to make sure if I read correctly is this regarding to pulmonary fibrosis question mark because I have pulmonary fibrosis and I'm confused quite a bit about others that have it and to see if they're having some of the symptoms I'm having I'm planning to go to the Denver National Jewish respiratory Hospital and also thinking about the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota not knowing which is best for pulmonary fibrosis. Please advise and thank you very much for your time

Hi @rosysharon,
A new feature will soon be added to the site that will allow you to sort the messages by oldest to newest or newest to oldest. In the meantime, I offer these tricks:

- Click VIEW & REPLY in the email notification. It will take right to the post.
or
- Click View & Reply beside the message in the daily digest to go right to the post.
or
- Click Last at the top of a discussion thread to skip to the last page of posts.

Hi @monia1 and welcome.
You will find quite a few people talking about pulmonary fibrosis in the Lung Health group here: http://mayocl.in/2mb8F2s
Members there will be able to answer your questions. I suggest to start by posting a message with your question(s) in this discussion:

Good morning to you and thank you for your reply. Yes I do want to be in touch with many others regarding the pulmonary fibrosis problem I'm having period I know my doctor here in Florida where I live wants me to go to the Denver National Jewish hospital or the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota he said it's my choice however he chose National Jewish hospital only because they concentrate mostly on respiratory. But I know they are both good very good actually period I just wanted to really get more support like from you which I'm glad to receive and then discuss what issues I'm having for my medication or I should say side effects. I am taking esbriet and yes I've lost lots of weight very tired not a good sleep extremely forgetful and clumsy many times friend walking. So I don't know if these are typical effects that others are having with this medication. I appreciate again your reply and I thank you so much and I'm going to try to browse through this to see others that have my issues and I look forward to any more suggestions from you thank you and God bless you and be with you and your family. Moni
