Bowel or fecal incontinence and how to manage it
I am 73 yr old femal with diagnosed Celiac, Microscopic Colitis and IBS. i don’t have diarrhea, BM’s are either soft formed or constipated small hard stool, but either way I can be incontenant of small amount of stool. I wear a pad in close knit underwear with legs, so nothing can escape. Any advice from people with same problem would be comforting and useful. I would like to know how you handled it on social occasions.
Thank you, Emyliander

@myladybug52 Yes, it was scary. You feel like your guts are going to come out. Hope your brother make it through OK. That's a problem for those of us with MC incontinance. Contract a UTI, have to take a broad spectrum antibiotic and end up with C-Diff.
@donnagail
Absolutely! Yes, my brother has survived stage 3B melanoma for 8 years. Thanks!!

1 Reaction@myladybug52 We love our coffee for sure. It is one of the few troublesome things I have not eliminated but limit. I switched to black also but there are “milk” alternatives to dairy. Oat milk works great and does not separate. I either warm it up and use in the coffee or keep the coffee black and sip the warmed oat milk separately. This has not produced undesirable symptoms for me (Reflux, IBS) but we are all different. Maybe trying this might add some joy to your day.

1 Reaction@cezanne Good morning! It is very funny that you mentioned dairy alternatives. My husband and I went to the yesterday and actually picked up coffee creamer made with almonds! No carrageenan! I am sitting here sipping on a cup of coffee right now. I sure do enjoy my morning Joe. I love going to Dunkin’ and ordering my lattes. Convoluted as they may be - medium, iced, sugar-free vanilla, decaf, almond milk, and two Stevia. LOL

2 Reactions@myladybug52 Great! Nice to hear.
When choosing milk alternatives I look for as “clean” as possible, without additives that might cause issues.

1 ReactionHi there! I have the same issue at times. I’ve been doing Pelvic Floor exercises which I found online. They seem to help!

@myladybug52 don't know if it will help you, but I found some low acid coffee that is pretty good and it seemed to help. hate decaf.

Really? Would you mind sharing the brand with me?
@samclembeau - my husband and I agree. We'd rather chance the energy boost of regular coffee, even at night, cause it tastes better than decaf.
