Anyone have success with treatment for vaginal Lichen Sclerosus?
I have had vaginal Lichen Sclerosus for many years with several flareups. I am interested in learning of any successful treatments or recommendations.

I am under the care of a dermatologist. She is treating me for LS with clobetesol. Mometasome is a steroid like clobetesol.
Is one better than the other?
Have you had ulcers from LS? Any advise?
I had a nurse from the woman's health office take a biopsy of my vulva and confirmed it was lichen planus. She called in a script of Clobetasol prop 0.05 ointment 45GM. It cleared up my break out. She said to use it once a month to eleviat any further out breaks. So far, so good. 👍
My oral lichen planus is a totally different demon 😈
My fissure are not going away! Clobetesol seems to make them worse. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Yes , the Clobetesol can actually cause the fissures especially if you are using too much. It is a strong steroid and can thin the skin. I am having the same issue right now with my fissure not going away and feel like I should stop using it. But after several days of NOT using it, they are still there. Don't know what to do? Ugh
@lynd72
Did you ever use clobetasol for LS?

I feel your pain. I have been using clobetasol since late November. The itchiness & inflammation have subsided. But have now developed what my dermatologist said is an ulcer on the labia which is painful and burns when urinating. She prescribed silvadene which burns when putting on so said to stop using it. Then told me to try zinc. She said the ulcer is a result of LS that I have.
What to do next is a mystery & certainly not fun. My quality of life is compromised 😩 any suggestions?
I am an 80 year female. Many years ago and after several month of persistent vaginal itch, I was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus. Since then, whenever I have a flare up, I apply Pure Refined EMU OIL with great success. It gives me almost instant relief and, in a few days, it is in remission. Emu Oil will keep in the fridge for many years. I always have it on hand for the next flareup. I bring it to room temperature so it will soften. I only buy Pure Refined Purple Emu Oil and I buy it online. You apply it with your fingers and it gives wide silky coverage. I tried Emuaid in the past. Although it is a very good cream and gave short term temporary relief, it does not heal the way Pure Emu Oil does.
Good luck on your journey

Just curious if the sore you had was a result of using clobetasol or was the sore from LS? Can you share what your sore felt like & did you try anything else besides the clobetasol & prednisone? Thanks for any help!
The sore was from LS. The sore was painful and I did not use anything else the prednisone and clobetasol cleared it up within a week. I've had this disease for 16 years and nothing helps but clobetasol and prednisone. I still get sores every 3 months or so I just deal with it, and life goes on.

Have you or your doctor figured out what to use?
Are your fissures like sores & do they burn or hurt?
My sores hurt & burn when urinating. Not sure what to do either!
