Want to share with other victims of narcissism (NPD)

Posted by purplewings @yellowings, Jun 28, 2017

I am interested in sharing with victims of narcissism who understand that this is a medical condition that has no cure known. The goal is to share to cope with the remaining symptoms of abuse, which are traumatic and permanent.

@colleenyoung yes, but it's been on and off for the last 7 months. I didn't speak to him for 4 months then he shows up when his dad died and boom starts all over again. I've been on the silent treatment again since Friday now. Lol

@tlstark08 It is great you are aware. They come back for more supply, whether it is positive or negative. It is so hard to break away. I had a person that really destroyed my trust in people. Did not speak to me for over 4 years and then BAM...this person reached out. I was excited and then yet, I know who they are. Nothing has changed. It is almost like an addiction for me. I have to treat it that way. I would respond to texts and then before Christmas...silence. So, nothing has changed and I will admit that I battle with myself about it. Crazy making people, narcissists...

Hello, i had 6 years of therapy that was only a little bit helpful about coping with low-to-mid range NPD husband. I have chosen to stay because of his other qualities, and because of our age and finances. Recently, i see some of his behaviour may actually be OCD, and i am able to understand him better. But i believe the constant stress of living with a NPD has damaged my health and made me bitter. (When they show you who they are, run fast!)
