Moving house anxiety
Hi
Been going through a hard time since moving house 9 months ago. I loved our rental we stayed there for for 10 years, but we were tired of renting. Our new home unfortunately doesn’t feel like home. It doesn’t have that homey vibe a townhouse community has. Been feeling depressed scared anxious getting feelings of dread doing normal activities. Not sure if it’s panicked attacks but it’s an awful feeling. Having painful skin issues not sure if it’s nerve pain or something else.
Has anyone gone through something similar. You feel so alone.

changing domicile is way up at the top of the list of anxiety producing activities-so it's normal to freak out or be depressed.
What to do about it? good talk therapy about your life experience(s); meditation; medication, if needed friends and family.
Didn't you pick your new place feeling it would be a comfortable and enjoyable home?
Change is difficult, but inevitable. We need to let go of the old (and especially things there left unfixed), and embrace the present. And, yes, even if we we succeed in letting go, the past may not, and clings.

3 ReactionsI’ve moved many times and it always feels a bit new & awkward at first, but within a short time you get to know the neighbors and feel right at home. Don’t be shy about striking up conversations with people you meet on your street or at the grocery store. Maybe find somewhere to volunteer. Knock on a neighbor’s door to introduce yourself. I don’t often see my neighbors, but We’re always friendly when we do happen to meet up.
