socks and neuropathy please read
I have neuropathy in my feet and in the tips of my fingers. It bothers me tremendously it hurts, stings burns, etc. The strange thing about it is, I feel like I have socks on and cannot take them off. It feels like sometimes they are too tight and hurting the end of my toes. I can push my skin down and it helps sometimes. I am not crazy, this is true. Does anyone else have this problem? It is an awful feeling all the time. Never heard anyone else say this. Don't know what king of neuropathy I have. Fay

@faybe make sure you get the R-ALA version. Not the S-ALA version, the synthetic version

2 Reactions@faybe make sure you get the R-ALA version. Not the S-ALA version, the synthetic version. Also I was given B-12, (not the synthetic version). And magnesium glycinate. B-6 was also prescribed but the wrong version, P-5-P is the preferred version because regular B-6 can become toxic

I too have peripheral neuropathy. I do not know the extack kind. It started in my feet. At night it would wake me up with stabbing pain in my heals. I would get up and walk, and cry it hurt so bad. My neuolgist ordered a special mix of Gabapenten. I know that is spelled wrong. I rub it on my heals. I really helps. Now the neurophy is up to my knees. and just lately my hands have started to burn and tingle.

3 ReactionsWhat stops muscular spasms in my ankles/legs most effectively for me is the SPRAY ON magnesium. Spray it on the knotted muscle, rub it in, and it seems to work almost magically/immediately. Even if you already take magnesium, it goes out through urine, so it doesn't hurt to use the spray, and I also take magnesium soaking baths at times. "Ancient Minerals" is one very good brand I use, I keep one of their little spray bottles next to my bed. Hope this helps!

4 ReactionsI, too, have severe PN. It's most pronounced in my feet, but it does run down my legs. It feels as though my legs, and my feet in particular, are heavily & tightly wrapped in ace bandages. It's not a great feeling and along with pins & needles and pain in my feet it makes for a very long day. I have not found anything that helps, unfortunately. May we all find comfort and solutions.

1 Reaction@faybe Biological Activity: R-ALA is the only form naturally occurring in the body, whereas S-ALA is considered a less effective,, unnatural byproduct.

2 Reactions@5305200 I have experienced the feeling that my sock is still on my feet even after taking it off. I notice this at night, in bed. My toes feel as though they were fused together. Out of all the aches aging has gifted me, it is not near the top. I do take gabapentin at night, but I'm reading that it has side effects like dementia. Jeez...it's always something!

1 Reaction@flegmonde I have been taking gabapentin also and have not experienced any increase in memory loss. I have been on atorvastatin for years and have always taken CoQ10 at the same time as it negates the effects on memory. It may help with gabapentin, but I am not a doctor.
@tomkofathensga Thank you for responding so quickly. I also take atorvastatin. I will look up CoQ10- I don't know what it is. I do have some memory loss. My best friend and I joke about memory. I'll start to talk about something, and then draw a blank; she will try to finish the sentence and we both laugh about it. I will then text her later when I remember the word.
