Is it important to ALWAYS wear sun glasses when outside having AMD?

I have AMD but have not been told to wear sun glasses whenever outside. Several friends have been told to do this.

Yes! I have worn sunglasses all my life. I still have macular degeneration- wet in one eye. But best to protect your eyes.

Yes, even when it is overcast.
Sunglasses are to protect your eyes from UV light. The sunglasses should also have wide templars to block the rays coming towards your sides.
Most sunglasses can have Rx lens made to replace the original sunglass lens.
Also, wear sunglasses when inside if you are near windows.
