Osteoarthritis

Posted by sandy148 @sandy148, Dec 26, 2024

I have osteoarthritis everywhere. As long as I keep moving, I am good but if I sit in a chair anytime at all, it hurts to get up. I cannot take motrin or advil because I have asthma. Anyone had any success with any particular medication. Steroid shots won't do it.

@cavalryman Where do you buy your Flexiseq? Looks like it is only available overseas. Is there a US source for Flexiseq?

@covidstinks2023 diclofenac gel is fine and does not affect blood pressure .

@marietter you need to be more specific regarding diclofenac as the oral formulation has a ton of side effects and drug interactions while the topical formulation does not. And since the topical formulation is 1% OTC and if used correctly as prescribed it has minimal systemic effects. Unfortunately many people do not read the literature or use the dosing rule found inside the package attached to the box.

The oral medication of Diclofenac is what I was referring to.
I use the gel occasionally on a joint area per directions. Without affecting my blood pressure for my OA pain.

I searched and couldn't find any in the US.

I use celebrex daily, 200 mg am and 200 mg pm. It has been a life saver. I was in so much pain. I sit a lot too and that makes it worse. I do stretch and walk up and down the hall if I can't go out.

@bimshire diclofenac is sold at CVS and most pharmacies at a 1% formulation OTC. It is available in 2% strength by prescription only and most providers will not give you a prescription since it’s OTC. The generic is cheaper than the brand name.

@jenatsky, I was actually responding to @calvaryman on Flexiseq not dicoflenac. Not sure where I went wrong but thanks for responding.

@bimshire hi, I ordered Flexiseq on Amazon. You get 4 tubes for $98.20. I tried to attach a link on this reply but we are not allowed to do that I found out!
