Osteoarthritis

Posted by sandy148 @sandy148, Dec 26, 2024

I have osteoarthritis everywhere. As long as I keep moving, I am good but if I sit in a chair anytime at all, it hurts to get up. I cannot take motrin or advil because I have asthma. Anyone had any success with any particular medication. Steroid shots won't do it.

@robinleslie they could’ve only gotten it through you or your husband and your families. Interesting thing was my gout flares showed up before my father’s.

Greetings
I am 65 and been suffering with OA since I was 16 years old a lover of sports and stubborn not listening to doctors. I been given all kinds of meds. Each new medication was stronger, I didn't like being drowsy through out the day. Nor being hooked on strong medicine for pain.
It was ruff, but I was blessed to come off the strong medicine. I explained my situation to a pain doctor he gave me a pamphlet on herbal tea, and different low dose prescriptions, I cannot remember the name of one it comes in pills and a liquid i took at night. Tea and exercise, hot pads helps reduce Arthritis flare ups - I had the needs in both knees, right betwixt the bones, that's painful but a day later I had good mobility.
I hope some of this was helpful.
Have a good day
