Heart palpitations with anxiety? If so, what to do?
Does anyone ever have heart palpitations when they are experiencing anxiety? If so, what helps you stop them? I had a heart attack last year. Should I be concerned? Dany

I’m pretty sure you are suffering from anxiety, all the symptoms that you describe are very similar to this ailment, of course I am not a medical professional but I’m a longtime sufferer of anxiety. The neck pain is caused by tension and it’s a common spot for muscles to tense up which leads to pain, nausea is another symptom of anxiety because it’s difficult to eat when you’re stressed and it can cause nausea, palpitations are also caused by anxiety. I suffer from chronic anxiety and I have all the symptoms that you mentioned, I started young too and it pretty much has been with me forever. It’s very wise that you have been checked out by the doctors but if it continues to trouble you then you may need some help from a medication like an antidepressant, perhaps therapy could help you to find out what’s causing your anxiety because there’s usually a cause that you might not be aware of and that is why therapy can be very beneficial, best wishes.

5 Reactions@colely - Good advice.
I'd just add that the most reputable websites to use for more information are those that end in *.org (hospitals, nonprofits focused on certain condition, or *.edu (academic, research institutions).
That would include: Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and condition-specific nonprofits, amongst others.

2 ReactionsI have had heart palpitations over the years and my PCP at the time had me wear a "Holter harness" (I think it was called) for a day and it would record any unusual episodes, and I would also make a note if/when I noticed a racing heart.
For me that did not result in any specific diagnosis, and like you my EKGs were fine.
But the Holter monitor might still be used to try to record the palpitations when they occur.
Ask Qs, read reputable professional sites associated with major medical centers/hospitals and academic institutions that are involved in research on these issues.
Take care.

2 Reactionsthank you all !! 💌💌 i'm very bad with writing replies on these kinds of things but very very appreciative nonetheless especially with such bad health anxiety making me feel like these are the end of everything sometimes (;_・)
i recently went to the doctor a few days ago with a bit of money i saved up and ended up getting an ekg done and even though there were concerning results at first with low oxygen / very fast palpitations, all of my bloodwork and monitoring for it turned out fine in the end after a few hours !! they're still there but havent been as severe lately especially after i had a lot of fluids as well
i now have a referral to a psychiatrist that im following up on and also a referral for a physical therapist for the neck pain 😀 and will definitely advocate for looking into possible medication / further going into anxiety :] thank you all so much again 💧💧

3 Reactions@severance It's great that you followed up with your doctor and the referrals. I'm glad the feedback, support, and recommendations were helpful for you.
It can take some time to get in to see a psychiatrist. Most psychiatrists prescribe and manage medications and do not do psychotherapy. Have you made your appointment? Also, are you seeing a mental health therapist (psychologist, social worker)? If not, your psychiatrist can make a referral for you. You can also check out the following website to see who is doing therapy in your local area and if they have openings.

@merpreb lately I've been having heart palpitations going on a week. I have severe medical anxiety. Went to a cardiologist 3 years ago, did a stress test and they said it looked like I may have a blockage in the lower ventricle. He did an angiography and found ,in his words, your as clear as the day you were born. Something on the stress test must have been off. I was very happy about his findings. Now lately I've been having these palpitations. Went to the emergency room last night, they did an EKG, chest x-ray and blood work. Everything came back good, but because of the way the doc told me that I should follow up with my cardiologist and gave me a baby asprin now I'm still in panic mode am I just crazy??
I understand what ur going through, I’m the same way and the anxiety rules & somewhat ruins my life with excessive worrying!!! I read into things like it sounds u do too! Try to do some deep breathing and get out and keep ur mind busy with something else, that said I know a person keeps on ruminating and it builds more anxiety.
Good luck!
