Peripheral Neuropathy
I've had peripheral neuropathy for many years now and I have tried all the medicines and have not had much pain relief in my feet and toes !!
I've been to numerous doctors and came away with no answers !
I'm getting to the place where it is hard for me to walk and I fear that I will not be able to walk soon !
I'm looking for answers !

I have had peripheral neuropathy for several years now. I am 78 years of age and still working part-time at a job I love. I have been on Pregabalin and Lyrica at different times throughout the years with no relief so I gave up.
I have decided to try again and my right side only is affected by pins and needles and electric shock-like pain due to five herniated discs. I am currently taking 200 mg of Pregabalin in addition to Oxycodone & Naloxone 5&2.5mg three times daily. I am not feeling any better and want to come off these drugs.
Has anyone tried MIRO lotion or any other topical creams/ointments that they find helpful?
Hello @granniefrannie, Welcome to Connect. Haven't tried Miro lotion myself but thought you might want to scan through the following discussions to learn what others have shared that helps (or not):
-- Transdermal magnesium cream/lotion/ointment for peripheral neuropathy:

-- Topical creams and lotions for Small Fiber Neuropathy:

Have you discussed your question about wanting to get off of the drugs because they are not helping with your doctor?
@johnbishop
Hello John…thank you for taking the time to reply. I have talked to my pharmacist about reducing meds and I have an upcoming appointment with my family physician. I will speak with him about reducing my meds.
I’m now getting bombarded with ads from MIRO and other neuropathy products simply because I checked out an ad. It has turned me off from trying their product so it backfired from a sales perspective!

1 Reaction@chace61 I have used frankincense pure oil mixed with Myrth oil and sometimes I use frankincense oil and jojoba oil and that seems to work really well another med I use is a prescription compound of gabapentin cream, Lidocaine and ketoprofin and that works really well
But other than that there is no cure . My pain in the past has been so intense that I asked my doctor if amputation could work and I was serious at the time that was before these medications and one other thing my husband gives me foot massages and that relieves some of the pain.
@wmjmck I just switched over to lyrica 4 capsules 2x a day and that works better for me than Gaapentin and I’ve had this for 25 years already.
My pain is cold feet tingling and sharp stabbing pain and my feet always feel wet and I have constant twitching in my feet and this is all at the same time it drives me crazy at times
@royztoyz
I found that Gabapentin caused me dizziness and foggy memory! There's a new non-opiod drug out now. Gonna see if doc will let me try it. Google it!
@sboylenotthesinger I think you are referring to Journavx. I am taking that now, actually off-label, because it is only approved for scute pain. You can read all my posts by searching under my name, or maybe by Journavx.

To the best of my knowledge Gabapentin to be an opiod drug, it is an anticonvulsant medication used to treat epilepsy and nerve pain. Like any other drug, Gabapentin may have side effects for certain individuals. Some states have now listed Gabapentin as a controlled substance due to it being misused alongside opioids to enhance their euphoric effects. I have never used this drug combination to acheive any euphoric effects. The actions of individuals who do use such a drug combination unfortunately makes me unable to have Gabapentin delivered to my home along with my groceries by my local Walmart Pharmacy. I wish you the best going forward with the new medication you hope your doctor will prescribe for you.

Yes, that's the drug. I read all about it. Is it working for you and how long have you been taking it?
Hey, read my previous lengthy posts so I don’t have to type it all again 😂
