How do you use the Bololo?

Posted by lvnl @lvnl, Oct 5, 2025

Hi all, I just got the Bololo baby bottle sterilizer after so many positive comments here. Trying to sort out the most effective & time-saving use ... So all input welcome and thanks!
If you have the Bololo...
How often do you sanitize?
How many nebulizer sets do you sanitize at once?
Do you still soak in soapy water first?
Do you leave the "extended" function on? If so why, if not why? Meaning it turns on heat every so often to keep parts sanitized as they are stored in the machine. Not sure if all the machines have this?
And I can't find a way to turn off the extended function without turning off the machine altogether. So if I turn on the machine when I go to bed, it kicks on and makes some noise periodically (I have it in my room).
Thanks and best to all.

I use distilled. The water boils to make the steam, therefore I don’t think it’s necessary to boil ahead. Remember, Falkingham said the nebs and Aerobika don’t grow Mac easily. That was reassuring.

What source said we need to boil distilled before using in Bololo?

What type of water do you use in the Bololo sterilizer? I just got one and have been using it daily with distilled water. I just saw that distilled water is not a good choice because it is not sterile, so if I am to boil distilled water to sterilize it, then why use the Bololo? I’m so confused

I use distilled water. The heat from the sterilize function is quite hot so I don't worry about the water being sterile. The distilled water is to prevent mineral build up. If you have a LifeStraw Pitcher you could run the distilled water through it before use. I have one but have not thought it necessary to do so. Anyone think it is?

@kapw I use a Bololo with distilled water because presumably the heat it generates to sterilize, specifically 212 degrees, would be enough to kill any MAC germs on the equipment or in the water.

@irenea8 I use Life Straw for drinking water. I use straight out of the jug distilled water for BBS.

Last June, I emailed support@bolololife.com and asked them how to register the Baby Bottle Sterilizer because I couldn't find it on their website. The manual said that once registered, I would receive free HEPA filters. I included my order information from Amazon.

They responded "We have closed the registration entrance, if you want to get a free HEPA air filter , we can ship to you."

I replied to their email saying that would be great. I received a package of 4 filters within a week.
