Anyone have success with treatment for vaginal Lichen Sclerosus?

Does anyone that suffers with LS suffer with burning during urination if so what to do besides a barrier cream? Any suggestions?

@andwho Lisepten helps with all my LS symptoms. Like most herbal and natural solutions, it may not provide immediate relief for all symptoms and may take time, but it's worth it. I did feel better the first day, so for me, it really was "immediate". Continued use has been what's worked perfectly, and my symptoms rarely present themselves. I sometimes forget I have it.

@andwho I have found that after wiping, it helps to use another wad of paper with water to totally rinse theurine off.l It really helps, then apply a barrier and switch it up...

Did you suffer from any sore or blister from LS.

@andwho many little cuts, burns tissue changes, now in remission but do get flares, so stay on top of it. Even the Scotts tissue seems to have changed the formula- though they deny it but many people have noticed, which is not helping. I use clobestsol, Eucerin ointment, Vaseline, etc on a regular basis, twice a week. If i don't- the flares come.. not easy to sit when that happens. Best of luck to you.

I am using clobetesol since Thanksgiving. What helps is lidocaine which I use with the clobetasol. The lidocaine relieves the pain which the clobetasol doesn’t. Have you used lidocaine?

@andwho - Hi. I've just had an appt with my second uro/gyno doctor for urinary stricture, urgency and lichen planus of the vagina. The exam was "tough" and I'm still having pain when urinating. She wants me to start dilating my vag opening and I don't think I can as the pain is so bad--just to pee. No problem to walk or sit. She said she was going to send an Rx for Ladocaine to help during treatment but she didn't. So when I asked about it through the portal I got a response of "get it over the counter." My question to you is what brand, % strength, etc. do you use? There are so many on the shelves that I need to get a suitable one. Thanks so much. Faye

I use lidocaine both 4% & 5%. I buy the 4% otc at Walgreens. The 5% not in the stores but I ordered it on line. The problem I have with urinating is that it burns. Is that the pain you have? What is lichen planus?

@andwho - Thanks for your quick response. I went to CVS earlier today and bought CVS brand lidocaine 4% cream. As soon as I got home I applied it before I urinated. It did not help at all. The burning sensation when the urine hits the outside tissue is enough to make me almost scream. Is your lidocaine a gel or cream? Also is it a Walgreen's brand? As far as what lichen planus is, you might do a google search but as I understand it is the same cause of lichen sclerosis. I know it is incurable but I pray for some treatment that will give some relief. It seems there are so many who find an answer but we all seem to be different. Look forward to your response. Faye
