Sex after Holep?
Sex following Hotep procedure. Been 5 months since Hotep...everything much, much better. However, sexual activity I have noted I do not discarge any fluid , although i have the "feeling" of orgasm. Not quite as intense as having sex and a ejaculation. Any way to improve on this? Miss the good ole days.

I went down that road of trying to restore libido and putting ED in my rear view mirror. So, the ED meds do not work, the penile injections do not work, the vacuum device did not work, and I moved on to believe that it had to be related to male hormones that were disappearing with age. I'm 78 yrs old now. I had a small but short bit of success with injecting testosterone cypionate in my upper thigh. My free-T had dropped a couple of years back and was very low and out of range. I still do those T cypionate injections, one shot per week. Now I'm looking into serotonin and dopamine which I think must be in balance to have normal male libido. I can't get in to see an endocrinologist for a few weeks, the one I was seeing went from common group practice into his own concierge service. I don't think the doctors really care much about this, because the ED meds work for most men.
Thats the one thing I am discouraged with HOTEP.....no emissionn of fluid during orgasm. Disappointed, but had to have the surgery.
I had HOLEP performed at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville 3 1/2 years ago. A very good choice for me. It’s true, the retro-ejaculation isn’t quite as good as ejaculation…..but certainly better than the alternative. I thank God that I have what I have! It still feels wonderful! I also wanted to point out that 2 1/2 years following the procedure, on occasion….I do have a small ejaculation! Not always, but occasionally! It’s not the end of the world guys…..it’s life!

What do you mean by "small ejaculation"?
I mean that sometimes I have a discharge….maybe 10-15% of what it used to be.
@kayak461
What about the sensation. I’m not worried about Retro ejaculation. I worried about diminished orgasm sensation.
The sensation is different for sure, not quite as satisfying. But….its better than I had hoped for. It has been 4 years I think since I had HOLEP…..There are times when I do have a small ejaculation. I accept that this is how it is now for me and I am grateful for the fact that I still have a wonderful sex life!

1 ReactionThank you for responding. I am scheduled for HoLEP. I stopped Flomax because of that feeling. I am hoping it won’t feel the same as that. I’m a pharmacist and know that Flomax affects the smooth muscle tissue and the ejaculation process itself. Relaxing the bladder neck and the prostate. It feels “muted,” less forceful, or less satisfying. Like it stops as soon as it starts. The contraction and whole body orgasm feeling is gone. However, after HoLEP the nerves responsible for orgasm are usually not affected by the surgery but, the bladder neck is altered (causing retrograde ejaculation) but not relaxed like the Flomax . I read that many men say they still experience the same pleasurable muscular contractions of orgasm—they just don’t see semen come out. Have you used Flomax prior and experienced this? Do you still feel the contraction of a satisfying orgasm even though no semen comes out? I’m thinking to try aquablation instead. I’m so worried. But I know I need to do something because I develop bladder stones and have slight irreversible damage to my bladder wall. HoLEP is a one and done procedure. Aquablation is newer and may need to be treated again. They only have 5 years clinical studies.
