Sex after Holep?
Sex following Hotep procedure. Been 5 months since Hotep...everything much, much better. However, sexual activity I have noted I do not discarge any fluid , although i have the "feeling" of orgasm. Not quite as intense as having sex and a ejaculation. Any way to improve on this? Miss the good ole days.

Hi,
Where's the blog?

@hilan711 Question for @nabulldog , for your HoLEP procedure, did you stop Daily Coumadin 5 days before then bridge with Lovenox or similar medication due to the clotting risk with the Mechanical Heart Valve ?
@hilan711
I generally keep my INR level low, Around 2.1 -2.5. I only held it for 3 days. If I remember correctly, they wanted my INR around 2.0 in order to do the surgery.
It was very interesting what I learned from the internist at Mayo. He said basically I could go a full year without coumadin and only have roughly a 10% chance of stroke within that first year. Each year after that, your chances, without Coumadin, essentially doubles, triple Etc . for each following year after that. So, 5 to 7 days, don't sweat it. I was very worried about the stroke issue at the time. But it turns out not to be as big a deal as you or someone else probably thinks it is. I'll be honest with you I think 10% was actually High. I just rounded it up because I can't remember the exact number. I know it was less than 10% and that 10% was essentially at the end of the first year. So, I don't worry about it anymore when it comes to surgeries and holding Coumadin. Of course I do take my coumadin as I should regardless of what I learned. Good luck to you
@nabulldog thank you, I've had a mechanical aortic valve for 25 years, and have had procedures where I was stopped warfarin 5 days ahead with no bridging with no problems. Currently intermittently Catheterizing for almost a year so hopefully I can void that retaining and get a longer sleep.
My aortic valve was in 2003.
Multiple procedure since then.
I had a Euro lift which was a complete failure. Made things much worse. Essentially when I went in to Mayo they said I was blocked completely. I occasionally had to use catheter.
My HOLEP has giving me my life back. Complete and utter misery the previous four years years before the procedure . Like I've told many people before, absolutely no regrets doing the procedure. I can go where I want, when I want, and don't have to worry about a bathroom or whether I can actually go to the bathroom. Or better yet, spending an hour in the bathroom trying to go.
I wish I had known about the procedure 4 years earlier. It would have saved me a lot of misery.
Good luck with your procedure or whatever you're planning on doing
@nabulldog Thanks again. I've appreciated you sharing your experiences .
Best wishes for continued improvement and complete success !
