Yes, yes, yes!! Have had regular grafts 3x and prokera once. It started in just my left eye and ulcerated so badly that my cornea almost ruptured. Now my right is getting just as bad. They have yet to try prescription drops, but absolutely nothing over the counter helps. It's so bad it just feels like my eyes are full grit all the time that it hurts to open and close them!

1 ReactionI’ve had severe dry eyes for seven years which began after cataract surgery. Nothing improves the condition and I hope to stumble on ANY positive treatment. Anywhere
When you say you can barely keep your eyes open, is that because of pain?
I had my oil glands drained 2x and it really helps. The oil thickens like spaghetti. After they are drained, instant relief. My eye doctor did it with a special tool.
Fish oil and sea buckthorn oil helps. Lots of Systane preservative free hydrating eye drops. Use their eye ointment at night or during the day is needed. Warm moist compresses. They could take your own blood and spin it down and use the serum for drops BUT of course it’s out of pocket. Only for the rich of course.
Mine is a question as well as a comment. Does your dry eyes affect your vision? I can see but not read if that is possible. I can play games on my iPhone but it’s hard to read articles. I don’t know if it’s the focusing or something simple like my glasses. I have talked to my eye doctor and he just says eyes are very dry. He ordered eye drops but they sting my eyes. I am trying Sooth a nighttime lubricant eye ointment. Systane Ultra lubricant eye drops but am switching to blink eye drops because I was told they are better. I will see if that’s true for my eyes. I take AReds with Vitamins but have no idea if they help. Like you I use water and even one those eye water cups. I struggle with it and worry about it but my eye doctor does ‘t seem to. I have wrinkle in macular from eye surgery. I would like to know if any of you have anything different that helps you. I wish you the best . Dry eyes sound simple but we know different.
How are your eyes feeling now?
I didn't read through the whole message list, but I manage my dry eyes with preservative-free Refresh or Systane drops. I also use gels when my eyes are particularly gummy. My doctor recommended Ocusoft lid scrub to decrease mites and help oil flow. If air is particularly dry or windy I flush out my eyes with drops. Adding a humidifier or furnace humidifier helps as well. We need a thin film of tears to see correctly; if the film is gone then so is our clear vision. Drops with preservatives irritate my eyes, even better-quality artificial tears.

1 ReactionI have sjogrens and severe dry eyes. I've gone through all different kinds of medicines, drops and pills. My Dr finally put me on Restasis. It has worked wonders! I used to not even be able to open my eyes all the way during the night. Now I don't have that problem at all. The only side effect I have is a little burning and watery eyes right after I put the drops in.

1 Reaction@maria626 I have dry eyes. I responded because you mentioned taking restates. Maybe I should try it again. I used it years ago and quit because of the burning. I am on oxygen and I think that adds to my problem . I worry at times I will use my eyesight. I no longer enjoy reading like I used to do. I tried wearing eye makeup and now it is really bothering me. Good luck and thank yo
