Medical marijuana for sleep disorders?

Posted by mazeppabob @mazeppabob, Oct 3, 2020

I have tried to research this topic on the internet but like everything else, it is difficult to weed truth from fiction.
Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of medical or street pot? How it might help or hinder sleep issues. Doctors are reluctant to talk about it. I am sick and tired of chasing my tail around, throwing money at. If CPAP doesn't work you get sent to a shrink and put on another antidepressant with all kinds of unpleasant side effects. CBD oil did nothing for me and the last time I smoked pot was probably 50 years ago. I will try just about anything to get one good night's sleep.

What works for me are hemp gummies containing cbd and Cbn. I believe these are legal in all 50 states.

@longhorn1 this has totally been a game changer for my husband and I as well.

I've tried multiple CBD type gummies, but I can't get past any of their after tastes. So, I started smoking CBD type products called pre rolls. I'm not a fan of smoking as I had virgin lungs, but I need help for chronic pain and insomnia. At first, my husband wasn't keen on me going this route, until he started seeing the benefits for me.

I would see if there was anything that would take the after taste away, ie peppermint candy/gum etc. before I would inhale into the lungs. You don't know what the damage or long term effects could be! Just my opinion! And I am all for anything that will help one slept as I suffer with insomnia as well and have yet to find anything to help. I am about to consider the CBD route!

@kndaustin71
You might try the CBD route, it has certainly helped me with both pain and sleep. Find the CBD that contains THC.

In my personal dictionary long term is tomorrow.

I live in Florida and have a medical marijuana card. I’ve been using gummies at night for the past three years. They’ve definitely helped me get through the last three excruciating years of sleep less nights, how ever, it’s not a permanent solution. I’m trying to wean off of them, because I feel it may be interfering with my other sleep meds.

I’m 75 and have had sleep issues since having give birth to 4 children and nursed during the night. I use to smoke but it started bothering me when inhaling. The problem with pot is it only lasts a few hours. I now alternate and combine between THC indigo Breeze Tablets 20 mg , Rejuvia sleep spray , lavender spray on pillows, and Medterra Sleep gummies with L Theanine, CBD , melatonin, and THC.
I take the gummie first a half hour before retiring which helps me fall asleep.
I don’t sleep straight through…wake up after 4-5 hours(use to be 2-3 hours)
Hit the restroom, then back to sleep. If I wake up at 5-5:30 I have trouble going back to sleep but eventually do.
I wish I could be hypnotized ! That would help!
Exercise daily , cut back on sugar and caffeine and go to sleep at a regular time,
I’m looking into trying CBN which is suppose to be mainly a sleep remedy.
Not sure the safety of taking it regularly. Back to doing my research.

@meri8181 have you ever tried acupuncture? And yes, CBN is promoted for sleep.
Personally, I try not to combine too many different sleep aids because who knows how they interact together. Right now I’m taking Lorazepam but tapering off and using THC Gummies with CBD and CBN on Alternate days. Sure hope the CBN works for you; Probably better in combination with the other ingredients
