Long Covid has ruined my life and marriage

I have been battling the horrible effects from The Covid vaccine for three years now. It has totally ruined my life and my marriage. Being told that you are a mental case and are unable to do anything correct is some of the worst things people can say to you. The one person whom you thought was suppose to be there for you really has deserted you. The best thing to do is leave a toxic and mentally abusive relationship so you can start to try to heal. Is anyone else going thru this or am I the only one?

@kiddo14 I also believe my ex started this after the vaccination we've been divorced and she's not been the same since that day.

@craiglisto
Totally understand. It has ruined my life. Lost my job, lost people in my life , going broke with meds, dr visits and paying for insurance coverage. We need more funding on finding a cure from the US government

You said it's "horrible" to stay in bed, so you know that's not the answer. When you are able to get up out of bed, what is the motivator?

Dr appts. Taking the dog out for a bathroom break etc. I just need something for pain and fatigue. Any suggestions?

@kiddo14 I take 50 mg of Naltrexone and Gabapenting. It helps. Naltrexone works on the dopamine receptors. I also take Vyvanse for ADHD and it helps as well as it targets dopamine receptors also. In the beginning, the doctors gave me toradol, but it is not recommended to stay on that long term. Hang in there.

I completely empathize with you. The difference is my partner passed away 2 years into my Long COVID. I have family and people that were in my life that do not believe this is a "thing." I have learned to realize that I have to have realistic expectations of other people. This virus has turned my life upside down, mostly that I isolate from others. I know that is not healthy, but part of that I believe to be grief and part is that other people really let me down when I thought they were true friends. I have come to realize that most folks only have 1-3 REAL friends. Maybe others have more, I guess that is just my experience. I try to remember things I am grateful to have, but this is a lonely place. Some days are better than others. I hope today is good for everyone here.

Just to clarify, are you saying that it was the vaccine that caused you to suffer your symptoms or from contracting COVID?

I strongly believe the vaccine did it. I was fine up till then. After the booster it was all over.

I strongly agree with you ! My husband retired from his dental practice in 2013 ,he was 72 we traveled the world in 2018 he was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment ( MCI) and then along came covid in 2021 we both took the vaccine and he started to decline . In 2023 we took a short cruse and he contacted covid and has been slowly decline. 7/13/25 we went to the pharmacy for a Singles vaccine and was given Covid Vaccine. Since that time his memory has Declined drastically. So yes I believe the vaccine is responsible.
