PVC'S

Posted by kerileea @kerileea, Nov 14, 2025

I recently started having an increase in PVC'S. Especially at bedtime and can hardly sleep. The doctor says I can increase my dosage of Metoprolol ER succinate. Does anyone have any help with PVC'S in HCM? I also wonder if they are hormone related but anything I feel with my heart freaks me out!

They say they’re benign but if nothing else they cause ANXIETY!!!

Please ask your doctor how he/she thinks an increase in Metoprolol will help PVCs. (For those who are new to this, we do not have plastic pipes in our hearts, PVC in cardiology is Premature Ventricular Contractions.) About 3 weeks after a septal myectomy, I developed dizziness and giddiness, and some caregivers thought it was due to PVC. These negative symptoms were eventually diagnosed as arrythmia, and I have an ICD.

@walkinggirl I have PVCs after septal myectomy (I have always had them though, but more now), I am seeing PCP today and if she doesn't increase it I will my cardio. It was changed around a month ago from 37.5 mg bid to 50 mg bid and I really don't see much difference except I feel more PVCs now,

@rebaheizer It depends on what % of your total heart beats they are. I dont remember the exact numbers but if you wear a monitor it can count them, I think I had like 3% and that was ok, but now I am sure its higher, so trying to get it figured out.
