For mild/moderate COPD, does Mullein tea/tincture help clear lungs?
Background-RLower lobectomy 8 months ago Stage 1A NCLC w/mild to moderate COPD/Emphazima (not being treated for). I guess I'm still having post surgery effects from lobectomy as far as right rib discomfort, chest tightness, but experiencing some shortness of breath depending on what I'm doing, so I guess I attribute that to the surgery, but also the COPD. I was a smoker for decades, & I still smoke 4-6 a day after no success with patches. Has anyone used Mullein to loosen mucus & to clear lungs, help with breathing etc? You can use it as a tea or a tincture. I want to try it, but am wondering for COPD, have you tried it? I want it to be safe, but effective

@johnnydale52 I got a new one. Congestion relief from the same company. Has many things including oregano which may be offputting to some. I like it. Jury is out on whether it helps or not. It also has mullien in it.
Amazon sells Mullein teabags and loose. I drink several cups a week with Manuka honey to sweeten. It really helps loosen mucus. I have bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis. My cough is much better.
@reneemc is it possible to us mullein in a nebulizer to get it directly to the lungs?
@capecodder can the person use Mullein in a nebulizer to get it directly into the lungs instead of the liquid or a tea or tablets
@colleenyoung is it OK to use a nebulizer to take mullein. And get it directly into the lungs. By the time I’m taking it in tablet or tea it filtered through your body so how much actually we get to do your lungs? And nebulizer would go directly to your lungs. Wondering what people think of this way of doing it
I just got some Melleim tea bags and it does have a nice effect. Only had 3 cups but it opened me up. It kinda tastes like hay so I put a small amount of sugar in it, that made it more palatable.
I use Mullein drops every morning. Have been using for nearly a year and find that it helps greatly loosen up Mucus in the lungs. Also keeping well hydrated, drinking plenty of water helps greatly.
Have started trying using mullein drops under the tongue to see if it's more effective in getting more of it into the bloodstream quicker and by passing the stomach. A little complicated and not sure of the results. Too early to tell.

1 ReactionI have Mullen drops. I’m thinking about putting it in my nebulizer. Has anyone else tried that?
@romoney1 Personally I wouldn't put it into a nebulizer because of potential safety reasons due to additives such as glycerin or alcohol, but an essential oils diffuser could work.
