I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

I able to pay it forward before I'm called home. I'm not saying I won't have a possible bump in the road ahead but I have to let go of what I can't control too.

I'm earning my Associates of Science Degree and going on to an RN Program. Well at least that was my plan anyway. My kids are all over, married with families.
I'm much better with anyone else's issues than my own at this point. I am just not happy with looking at that information in my chart online, when this is the only Dr that could of put it there bc the other Drs aren't affiliated with this office? I've had my Grandaughters up here from Fort Campbell area and we went to movies tonight so a couple hours of not thinking about it. My kids all know and think it's something that can be fixed? I'm just so over this stress!

Hi Ray:
I had an opportunity to attend a 6 month research study with Dr Amit Sood, at the end of the 6 month study we gave a report.
Mine was the "Silver Lining of Lung Cancer"... I realized lung cancer has become my blessing.
When I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I was rushed into surgery within 48 hours. The shock was unbelievable to me and everyone
who knows me...that was 9 years and 3 months ago (but who's counting, right?)

I have come to learn, attitude is more than 50% of "Beating the Odds" besides eating healthy and exercising - I have pushed the boundaries on exercise...but it makes me breath better!

After left lung VATS Surgery where my lung was removed with a 3cm tumor and some pulmonary fibrosis...it was thought my chances were 15%/85% You know what that means right? 15% chance of beating lung cancer! I am a Never Smoker to boot!

I have been blessed to really appreciate and am grateful for each and every day. I never dreamed I would live to see our daughter deliver a baby boy that is now on skis at age 6 years. Or did I know I would live to see our youngest son, marry and have a baby boy who is now 18 months old and they are expecting our granddaughter.

You know the joy! I have read your fun journey as grandparents. Nothing quiet like being grandparents right?

We never know what around the corner, has become my favorite saying. So, I hope you will continue to enjoy each day.

Take care, and thanks for sharing on Connect! Isn't it a great community, lead by an amazing woman!

@pattymac Hi Patty: I'm glad that you had a break by going to the movies with your granddaughters! That was the best prescription for you. We all need a break from our problems, but it's not always easy to do. By the way, you can get test results from your other doctors just by asking. Even if they don't have a way to do it online, they can mail you a copy. Best wishes as you wait for your next test. We are still pulling for you. Teresa

I am wanting to know what the protocol is for finding out and then treating lung cancer? How many tests do we need to go through and how do we know which treatments to accept as the answer? When do I know when a second opinion is needed and where do I go in Indiana since my insurance doesn't pay out of state. I could go to Mayo if I were wealthy but am not. So many hospitals and Drs tell you what they know from where they work at from what I understand. I get that bc that's their hospital but this is my life and I have to advocate for myself. So if it means moving to be healthy, I will in a minute not panicking, so don't worry:) Also, I think my posting issues come from posting from my iPhone bc now I am on my laptop and it seems to be fine. Thank you

Hi Kathy. Thank you for putting everything into perspective. I'm new to this site and was checking emails this morning when I found myself reading various random posts. For some reason, yours caught my eye. I read it with tears in my eyes. I have a chronic autoimmune condition that been making me wonder about my future with my 3-month old grandson and the rest of my family. Your words of advice slapped me back into the present and was exactly what I needed to read. Although you wrote your piece to another reader for a completely different disease, I know that I was led to your piece for a purpose this morning. Thank you! You really have no idea how you have affected me, my family, and my health. I wish you all the joy, peace, and happiness that comes your way.

We went to see Boss Baby, then went again the next night to see Beauty and the beast. I had to keep girls busy so they didn't know how sad I was. I drove them back to Tennessee yesterday and made it back last night. I ended up mtg my daughter in law a little more than halfway.Made it back in time for late Mass. So a week of beautiful granddaughters has come to an end and this morning watched my 4 month old Grandaughter for a couple hours before school. Now back to trying not to overthink me!
