Third month of Camzyos my ef dropped to 30-35. At what point do they
After three months of progress my recent echo shows a steep decline of EF On Camzyos. Monthly echoes continue and if I rebound they will put me on a smaller dose. At what point do they consider surgery?

I got a second opinion after my first Cardiologist recommended
Camzyos. The warning about heart failure scared me. So I went to Mayo in Phoenix for second opinion. His name was Dr. Cannon. He referred me to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota. And wanted me to see Dr. Dearani.
So thankful to have the extra heart muscle removed. I’m hoping it makes a huge difference this summer when I go hiking with my friends. Maybe they won’t need to stop with me every 5 minutes going up hill.
Dr Dearani said I should be fine next summer.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do. The whole process is scary.

3 Reactions@mbi thank you for your response. My Basel septum is 1.8 how did yours measure?
@elaine6415 my first echo after stopping meds was not improved. I have another one scheduled for December with an appointment with the doctor immediately after. I don’t know if I would want to try again. They haven’t suggested anything else yet.

1 Reaction@mbi I am not able to hike any more unless it's on flat level ground. Any bit of an incline and I have to frequently stop to catch my breath. I hate it. Going up stairs is no fun. Thanks for the info; Mayo in Phoenix is my next step!

That’s the way I was. I could walk easily on flat ground, but any incline was too much.
I am hoping that next summer will be different.
@mbi I’ve had bypass and surgery doesn’t scare me. What scared me is having my function reduced while on the medication. Thanks for your post.

I found my Mayo notes on Basel Septum. Mine was 18mm.
I’m not really sure what is considered normal.
