2025 Fall Booster: Get it or not?
I am in a quandary. I've had LC since 2022. I was fully vaccinated before my first infection. In Oct 2023, I got a Pfizer booster, and my symptoms flared up and set me back for months. I have avoided boosters since then. I am mostly well now (finally!), although I still experience some fatigue and joint pain. The question is: Do I get the 2025 fall booster or not? If so, do I receive the Pfizer booster in line with my prior vaccines and boosters? Should I go to Novavax instead? Is it less problematic? Any firsthand knowledge is appreciated. THX

You say your bouts with COVID truly did not help your lungs, yet your pulmonologist suggested you NOT get the vaccine? They think the vaccine is somehow more of a threat than a third bout with COVID?
I'm sorry, I'm just shaking my head...
There are a lot of issues with these vaccines - its a shame that it has turned into a political issue. I've had several advise me off the record against receiving any more of the boosters. In the end its a personal decision no one should be judged either way they go....
@bermuda8 Agree 100%
@sandguy You're making a judgment based on your experience and awareness. Others have other experiences and awarenesses. What is wise for you may not be for them. It is known that some people, especially those suffering from Long COVID, react with increased symptoms following the vaccine/booster. Why? Because the mRNA vaccine/booster triggers an imune response which manifests in inflamation and inflamation is at the root of all COVID symptoms. This increase in inflamation and resulting symptoms can last for days, weeks, or even years.

1 Reaction@chuckstran I don’t agree with the editors note. I’m suffering severe quality of life loss due to unexplained muscle atrophy and wasting and I was super athletic before getting the shots. There are also other types of dna like mitochondria that is outside of the nucleus that we have no clue if and how it’s affecting or changed that. Many of us seem to be presenting with mitochondria myopathies.
There is also a doc that speaks about how the shots could be acting as adducts to our dna—essentially like glue sticking to it and essentially causing dna scars so to speak.
Yes what the editor is saying is what should happened—in theory. But we really can’t refute that there isn’t some change on a genomic level and no one is studying this to prove or deny this in the injured or deceased. The fact that we took something that is ‘giving instructions to the cells’ is daunting enough and how do we know the body can even effectively clear this… it could be very well too that those of us with LC or long vax are a result of the spike instructions never turning off. And who knows what downstream mutations and impacts to proteins like misfolding is occurring.
Certainly it’s some misalignment in the body bc my muscles and those of several others I know are no longer regenerating.
All I’m saying here is that we have to be open minded toward these injures and consider all possibilities no matter how uncomfortable that may make us feel.
@boykin1017 Well said and I agree completely. THX

1 ReactionMy physicians do not bring it up and only offered me the flu shot this season which i had no response to. I rcvd all Moderna vaccines and boosters up until i went to an interesting seminar that i was invited to and which resulted in an appt with one of their drs. He told me adamently to not get anymore covid vaccines. He was with a lab out of Massachusetts that had immunoglobin and other advanced injections for LC and bone/joint restoration. It cost thousands. Did not try. Its interesting that there are people in this group who state they have never had covid and neither has their family. Are they in here because they have symptoms of ME/CFS and they are saying they got it from the vaccine? The technology with the vaccine is mrna. Is this causing similar inflammation? The vaccine saved millions and im so grateful they developed it so quickly, but every vaccine is going to have issues. Did they tweek the new booster? I have no idea. I feel very vulnerable to any virus, especially covid. P.s. my preferred name for long covid is PASC. There were many who have same symptoms of LC way prior to covid. Other viruses have caused the exact same response. There are many of us PASC survivors.

1 Reaction@greenshade amen!! U nailed it. This is not a political issue. Its a science issue. Vaccines save lives. But this vaccine can be very dangerous for PASC survivors.
@boykin1017 the covid virus is not in the vaccine. The m stands for messenger. It sends messenger cells. It can not alter dna. That is the beauty of the technology. It is a god given miracle that the technology of mrna was developed at penn medicine and ready to go when they rcvd the genetic sequencing of the covid virus. They tweek it for new strains cuz viruses are extraordinary and mutate. U have to keep up on those dirty rascals. If u in fact had a reaction to the vaccine, they are studying that and hopefully help is on the way for u and all of us. I have no fear of science and believe that whatever they learn from figuring out how this vaccine affected you, will help them develop a quick cure. Mrna technology is responsible for curing sickle cell in children suffering in great pain. The future is gene editing and figuring out how to save us with a needle or an IV. I know gene editing seems scary and so futuristic but the reality is here. I am an old star trek fan from the 70's and the dr would use a scanning device to diagnose and heal. I always wondered if that would ever be possible. I saved my childrens cord blood stem cells when they were born. It has been frozen for 21 and 24 yrs. I would love my dna to find the cure. I am part of the helix genome study. My sister and i both. Is the prospect of people doing bad stuff with this technology real? Yes. But the benefits outweigh the risks. Its like AI. Double edged sword.
