Prolia treatment for osteoporosis: What is your experience?
I received the results from my bone test and they have recommended I start Prolia. I have read the side effects and I am concerned. Has anyone use this drug and if so what side effects have you experienced. Thank you

@ladonnae has anyone ever mentioned Reclast to you? It’s a one time a year infusion for osteoporosis. I’ve had this infusion done for six years. Now I’ve been on a “vacation” from the Reclast for two years; so, I’ve not had the infusion or anything else for two years. It remains in your system for that time span. I’m fortunate in that I have no side effects. I’ve had no further bone loss and some small bone growth.
I’m 66 and live in MN with lots of snow and ice. This last year I’ve fallen twice where I was sure I’d broken my foot bones because of lots of pain. No breaks or even small cracks at all.
Maybe something worth checking into for yourself.
I had one shot of Prolia and do not recommend it. I could not get up off the sofa and had a hard time walking. I could only walk for a short distance and had to stop and sit down. My body ached for weeks after that shot and I think it is a dangerous drug.
You are smart to avoid Prolia and focus on weights and walking.
Bravo to you for being brave and sharing your feeling about Prolia being a dangerous drug! Together "We" can hopefully save others from the pain!
Great insights. Can you share "life long" information even if you stop taking them? I have asked doctors, "If there is an antidote?" They say, "No!"
Do you know what the side effects are 18 months after you stop taking this medication? Have you read the latest European report?
It has been about 4 years since I took the one Prolia shot and I still cannot walk as far as I used to and sometimes have to stop and rest.
I have not read the latest European report.
Can anyone post this report or direct people to a site?
I had 3 Prolia injections, one each year for three years. I had muscle aches and pains and with each injection I had an infection within that 6 month period that required antibiotic treatment. The doctor wants me to take these injections every six months now since the drug company has found out that 9 women experienced multiple spinal fractures when they stopped the Prolia. I am afraid to take any more of this medication because it seems to affect my immune system and now I am worried that I will have spinal fractures if I don't take it.
