Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?

Posted by kdalda75 @kndaustin71, Oct 18, 2024

Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

I was taking it twice daily but cut down to once. I started having panic attacks with blurred vision. I will be discussing with pulmonary doctor soon. Alot of issues are dealing with gas regulating of my blood stream.

Just started this (10/08/2025) medicine (Ohtuvayre), no results of any kind as of yet, I am praying that this will work....soon !! I'm to the point where I can barely do anything, I just would like to be able to function somewhat normally, I know I'll never be able to breathe like when I was 24-25 yrs. old again, but just to be able to run the vacuum, or make my bed, without almost collapsing would surely be a blessing !!
I will say prayers for everyone who suffers with this miserable affliction 🙏

@suzyq61, O dear, that is so disheartening, thanks for posting, so I don't get my hopes up to much !! I was on trelegy before this, for quite awhile and it worked so good....til it didn't 😥 now I've been on 3 different meds trying to find something that works, I'm losing hope at this point, maybe I'm to far gone, I just don't know anymore 😥 I pray 🙏 for nothing but the best for you 🤗

@hazely just give it time like i mentioned it helped in the beginning for me but everyone is different our bodies react differently to medications, this one may be the one for you. I was on trelegy too but i felt no difference so im on breztri. I started doing upper pulmonary exercises its half hour a day and that seems to be giving me some relief, we gotta just keep trying every thing we can, i hope the medication helps you

Verona Pharmacy has just placed on the market a new treatment option for patients with COPD. The name of the drug is Ohtuvayre - pronounced O 2 vayre. It focuses on PDE 3 & 4 to help reduce secretions with patients with not only emphysema but with a over-lying bronchitis as well. It is administered via jet nebulizer twice a day.
Just wondered if anyone has started using it and whether they found it to be helpful.

@kndaustin71 I have been on ohtuyare for several weeks now. Right away I felt like I could breath easier . I even called my lung doctor and told him how great I thought it was working. Then I had a little trip and I do not like going away from home over night because of the work to get all my medical stuff together and fear I will forget something. The morning I was leaving I woke up and could hardly breathe. I had extra breathing problems all the time I was gone. Was it my nerves or the medicine? I am doing better now and it’s been a couple of weeks. I think the new medicine is helping but did it cause the panic or what ever happened? I do not want to experience that again. It was rough but also embarrassing.
