@glinda, I have realized that particular dates have deeper meaning for me since my transplant. Especially date listed, and date transplanted. I also remember the exact time and place when I got the "Call" from my transplant surgeon.

Me also a lot of people don't understand that for us it's important they think that we shouldn't make a big deal about having to have or having had a transplant tbey don't realize how life changing it can be
@mlee1969 Gary, It is good to hear from you. Thank you for sharing your insight and for letting us know that you are ok.
I had to laugh (LOL) when you wrote that you were not the funniest person to be around back then. Those could have been my words! No one could even attempt a joke around me or they got an ugly glare from me. One of my earliest memories after my transplant surgery in 2009 {liver/kidney) was seeing my 2 sons come into my room with my husband and they had a bounce in their step - and were smiling! That memory always brings a smile for me:-)

I also think that many people (friends and family) think, "over and done". They do not know that after our life saving transplant, that we have become caretakers of these precious organs. We have to continue being monitored, and we need to take our medicines, and practice good healthy lifestyle!
@glinda, I want to share this 'trick' with you. If you ever want to direct a question or a reply to a particular individual here's what to do. Copy the @name from the top of the post that you are replying to, then paste it to your reply. (my preferred method)
Or you can type @ and then the first 3 -4 letters and a list should pop up to select from.
Glinda, the way you are doing it is fine, I just wanted to let you know. But by tagging a member, they will be sent a notification.

Thanks I'm not real good at online stuff and don't know how to copy or paste yet
@glinda, You are doing great!
At the bottom of this page, you will see a list of items for easy reference. In the left column, look at the "Get started on Connect" and you will see all kinds of helpful information. Of course, I am also willing to help you, too.
Did you know that:
you CAN reply to any conversation? (this is when the "@name becomes important- because they will get a notification.)
you CAN like any reply by clicking on the heart icon?
you CAN scroll thru any discussion, and any of the GROUPS, PAGES, EVENTS, CHAMPIONS that are across the top of this screen?
Sometimes, you will be "tagged'" by me or another member to another discussion. And you will get a notification.
Right now I am halfway dealing with a cold-nasal congestion thing, trying to get house in order for holidays, and watching my messages pop up. So please bear with me.

@glinda, Hi Glinda. I feel much better today! After a good night sleep and returning appetite, I'm ready to have a normal day! But I do plan to take it slow and stay inside and warm for the next couple days. You said your fear is colds; my fear is fevers. So I have been vigilant on checking it.
Glinda, On this forum, we have many people who follow along by reading our conversations. That is how we learn and encourage each other. And of course anyone is welcome to join at anytime, just like you did
If you are comfortable, would you share with us some of your journey? Keep in mind that this is a public forum. Glinda, how did you learn that you would need a heart transplant?
