NJH

Hi!
I thought I remembered that a NJH was in NY, but all I see is the one in Denver. Is there one in NY?
Also, when you go to NJH for the initial days-long assessment, is it inpatient or do you get a hotel room while you’re there?

Hi sarahlynn1960. Are you thinking of Mount Sinai - National Jewish Health Respiratory Institute in the City? I saw Dr. Christian Becker there for a second opinion and was very impressed. There's also NYU Langone and Columbia, I think. Good luck.

NJH, the one referred to in many of these posts, is in Denver, CO. All the testing and consultations are done on an outpatient basis. When I go up there (I live 12 hours away) we book an Airbnb near the hospital so we can take an Uber or walk there. I don't know of any hotels near NJH, and since you would be there for multiple days for your first visit, I think it's more cost effective to have a place where you can prepare meals as opposed to eating out. The trip is expensive but it's worth it. After all, what's more important than your health?

Thanks for the info! Are the 2 NJ facilities related to each other/run by the same organization?

I found this on the NY web site.
"The Mount Sinai − National Jewish Health Respiratory Institute (Opens in a new window) was formed by National Jewish Health and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a top ranked academic medical center in New York City."
