Where to find free online counseling?
Does anyone know where to find a free online place to talk to someone?…Anonymously and through a discussion board or email?
I know here is kind of like that, but I am too negative an influence for group discussions…and also some subjects would probably be too sensitive for this format.
Thank you.

I was told The Good Samaritan Ministries does online counseling. I was seeing a counselor in person when I lived in Washington State. They work by donation only. I've moved to Iowa and will be looking into the online counseling through them. In person counseling is located in the western states. I hope this helps!
I used CBT on myself -- it is basically Thinking Clearly -- to make sure that I do not end up AGAIN with unable to breathe in the middle of the night. I was told by the emergency doctor I had an anxiety attack. 'Me, anxiety? I am retired" I told her. 'What you're telling me is an anxiety attack symptom,' she assured me.
Later. as I got home, I had to confront MYSELF and say in life, sometimes many years of your full-time effort can end up of No Use to others for whom you may be working for. It still now and haunts me momentarily but I know in life we don't get what obviously makes sense. There are always things going to be outside one's control -- and therefore accepting this Truth is only the sensible way to get on with whatever time I am given. Sure I utter expletives when nobody could hear me except my cat when I see the carnage around me resulting in diseases just because NOBODY (agent) even cared to Look at my manuscript.
But I still try to do the good work that we all Can do -- and must do for our own good. So I give moral support or my insight where I think it might help. Yes, the good work starts with Self-good work. Good luck, fellow human.

I just left a ten year narcissistic relationship and need help moving forward.
@lesliedavis Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! Many of us go through relationship woes, and you will probably hear from several who have struggled. Remember, we are not medical professionals and cannot/should not diagnose or prescribe medications. We are here to relate our own experiences and share what things have worked for us, or not.
I am glad you realize you need/want to get help. For me, journaling has played a big role is helping me. It is a way to just let things spill out of your mind and heart. No need to reread it, or let someone else read it, unless you want. Words, collages, draw pictures, etc can all be part of it. There are no "grammar police", remember! Here is a link to a discussion I started: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/journaling-the-write-stuff-for-you/
As for looking for help, check your local sources first. You don't mention where you live, employment status, etc. If you have access to an employer assistance program, they may be able to help you. Here is a link to Forbes Health best 10 sites to look at: https://www.forbes.com/health/l/best-online-therapy/
Also, if you are part of a faith community, look to resources there. Do any of these ideas sound like they might work for you?
