We look forward to learning more about your story supporting a young adult through the transplant process.
@sandyblair - Congratulations! What a expression of love you son gave you to last a lifetime. I hope you are able to share such a successful story with others so people can learn about living organ donation (kidney and liver). Ignorance on the subject seems to be common. And what an encouragement for me (will need a kidney transplant in about one year) that you are celebrating 16 years with your new liver. Thank you for sharing.

Yes Lynn , my son is definitely my here ! And he is very humble abut his gift to me ! Every year when I thank him for my life , he tries to make light of it ! I love him so much !
I do share my story whenever I have the opportunity! If you know of any other media or other type of group that I can be involved in , I am available!
Correction, My Hero !
@sandyblair I adore both my son and my daughter but there is something special about the mother-son relationship. He is my biggest support and my inspiration to get fit. He volunteered to be a live liver donor for me but I didn't want him to because I felt it would impact his job a lot, whereas my daughter is a freelancer and can telecommute.
I know if my condition worsened to a point where it was imperative for me to get a transplant he would have been on the next plane across the country -- we are east coast, he is west coast. Thank God, it did not come to that.

Yes I did benefit from a live donor liver transplant ! My son was 23 years old at the time! And I celebrated that this week September 10 , 2001 , 16 years !
My son has not had any health problems as a result!
God has truly blessed me !
