I am having a VERY difficult time with Klonipin withdrawal
I have been on Klonipin for a BIG Panic disorder for over 15 years. I recently had to wean down off of 3 to none fast. The withdrawal was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I have my normal prescription now. However, at a lower level. But, I am still having a withdrawal symptom that is plaguing me. I am still taking it, but half of what I had been. I hear my Heart thumping in my ears, very loud and fast, 120 beats per minute. Did anyone else have that symptom? Or describe their withdrawal? Oh, and I NEVER want to speak to that new and cold Psychiatrist I have.
Struggling. Thanks.

1 ReactionSo many are in denial about their Benzos. They seriously believe they will find doctors to keep them supplied until they die. Long term benzo scripts are over no matter what your diagnosis. Ask the people who found out the hard way. I loved my Benzos to at one time. They just are not a life long solution.

3 ReactionsMy doctor talked to me about getting off benzos as I noticed my memory issues start to bother me. It is not good medication for me as I age in my 60s

3 ReactionsI'm having memory issues as well and then I'm not sure if it's menopause or the medication. I am sure that the medication is having some influence on my brain after all the research that I have read.

1 ReactionWe will make it through this. There is a great group that I found called benzobuddies.org and they are there to help so, that you don't have to read all the scary stuff. Trust me the more reading I did on this subject the more anxious I got just like you. I'm here for you.

3 ReactionsMenopause made my memory issues noticeable, but i now know klonopin most definitely has affected my memory, my digestive system, and my mood since I am now off klonopin for 3 weeks now. I am Jittery, anxious, and trying to adjust. It will get better but now need to focus on controlling my anxiety.

4 ReactionsOh, okay so you have already weaned off of Klonopin. Congrats. I know all the other symptoms stink but, you have made it a whole three weeks. That is awesome!!!
I physically am still struggling with tremors and being nauseated ( GI issues) but am very happy to be off klonopin. I had my first panic attack ever when I woke up in middle of night. I know i can work through it, but I have been weaning off since Jan 2024. I am tired of not feeling great.
Thanks for the support.
