Can anyone tell me what the acronym IHSS stands for? The only thing I can gather is that it is a heart related issue. Thanks.

IHSS means idiophatic hypertrophic sub-aortic stenosis. (cardiology, but they use this abbrevation also in the immuno science, but you are certainly looking for the first one).

It is an outdated term. These days it is known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
HCM is a more general term that includes the condition known as IHSS. Either way, outdated or not, it shows up in discussions and -- more important -- in important research reports and reviews.
