Sex after Holep?

Posted by cent66 @cent66, Mar 15, 2024

Sex following Hotep procedure. Been 5 months since Hotep...everything much, much better. However, sexual activity I have noted I do not discarge any fluid , although i have the "feeling" of orgasm. Not quite as intense as having sex and a ejaculation. Any way to improve on this? Miss the good ole days.

If your interested in how I progressed, I started a blog called "HoLEP Log; What was your Pre and post op experience" . I cover a brief before surgery and log my experiences since surgery.

2nd Experience with retrograde ejaculation.
Confirmed retrograde (dry), although it didn't feel like it. No pain, no blood
Orgasm Intensity is about 70-75% of pre-op

March 15th
3rd sexual experience ejaculated about a teaspoon of Semen

March 23
Retrograde:
Partial - more than 50% antegrade, did a hard kegel during orgasm. Close to pre-op intensity.
A couple of globs with some trace blood came out when urinating.

@hilan711 Question for @nabulldog , for your HoLEP procedure, did you stop Daily Coumadin 5 days before then bridge with Lovenox or similar medication due to the clotting risk with the Mechanical Heart Valve ?

I generally keep my INR level low, Around 2.1 -2.5. I only held it for 3 days. If I remember correctly, they wanted my INR around 2.0 in order to do the surgery.
It was very interesting what I learned from the internist at Mayo. He said basically I could go a full year without coumadin and only have roughly a 10% chance of stroke within that first year. Each year after that, your chances, without Coumadin, essentially doubles, triple Etc . for each following year after that. So, 5 to 7 days, don't sweat it. I was very worried about the stroke issue at the time. But it turns out not to be as big a deal as you or someone else probably thinks it is. I'll be honest with you I think 10% was actually High. I just rounded it up because I can't remember the exact number. I know it was less than 10% and that 10% was essentially at the end of the first year. So, I don't worry about it anymore when it comes to surgeries and holding Coumadin. Of course I do take my coumadin as I should regardless of what I learned. Good luck to you

@nabulldog thank you, I've had a mechanical aortic valve for 25 years, and have had procedures where I was stopped warfarin 5 days ahead with no bridging with no problems. Currently intermittently Catheterizing for almost a year so hopefully I can void that retaining and get a longer sleep.

My aortic valve was in 2003.
Multiple procedure since then.
I had a Euro lift which was a complete failure. Made things much worse. Essentially when I went in to Mayo they said I was blocked completely. I occasionally had to use catheter.
My HOLEP has giving me my life back. Complete and utter misery the previous four years years before the procedure . Like I've told many people before, absolutely no regrets doing the procedure. I can go where I want, when I want, and don't have to worry about a bathroom or whether I can actually go to the bathroom. Or better yet, spending an hour in the bathroom trying to go.
I wish I had known about the procedure 4 years earlier. It would have saved me a lot of misery.
Good luck with your procedure or whatever you're planning on doing

First make sure you eat healthy probably plant based, no smoking or alcohol, exercise least 3 times a week. If you still cant maintain erections, there are options of implants, suppositories or injections, those latter some men complain of discomfort. Also some erectile problems can be partially psychological ok good luck

For a more intense orgasm, use a constriction ring. I had Greenlight laser for BPH 19 years ago, and diminished semen, None now, but the constriction makes a bigger feeling. Cheap and easy.
