small red blotches on skin

Hi,
Has anyone had small red blotches randomly appear on your legs or arms?
Flat, not raised and doesn't itch. I think it is a side effect from prednisone but my rheumatologists say they have not seen that. I finally decided it was benign and I have just ignored it. But thought I would ask all of you.
Thanks!!

Yes, it’s purport, the result of skin thinning with long term prednisone use. There is another thread on this. Add to this older age plus lifetime sun damage, and they can look pretty bad. They do go away, but takes a long time.
My rheum doc is very familiar with this.

Yes, I have had a terrible time with the skin blotches and bleeding when opened since on prednisone

Also, when I was in remission for 3+ years and off prednisone these red blotches pretty much stopped appearing.

I'm off prednisone since May and the blotching has not gotten any better

As I tapered off my blotches improved. I’m now off 5 wks and don’t have them appearing, old ones clearing. Good luck

I just bought some “sleeves” to protect my arms since they are constantly bleeding. It is helping.
