Posted by baz @baz, Jul 5, 2022

I need to finally address my rectal prolapse. What are my options? Anyone else with this problem?
Thank you.

My drs name was Kelley Garrett New York Hospital in New York. You have to wait a long time to get an appointment but she is great. Superb.

What was the name of your surgery and who performed and where? Mine is from anal cancer and radiation and quite severe. I really want to know where I can go to get help.

Dr Kelly Garrett New York Hospital. Fabulous easy to talk to and has a superb reputation. You might have to wait a few months before she can see you but worth the wait. Good luck

I have to push what I think is my rectum back in after each movement. Sometime a little bloody . I have Waldenstroms so meds go from constipation to diarrhea. Not sure what I am really pushing in🫣. Father died of colon cancer but Waldenstroms alone is a lot to deal with

Google UROSPOT. It is a company in Canada but wherever you are from there are other countries that offer the same treatment. The advertising mainly discusses bladder but it is also used for bowel prolapse.

@swilkins1974 is Urospot covered by the provincial government health plan in Canada?

I did lots of research for 3 years and decided on robotic surgery in New York City and it was very successful.

@lucifer179 could you give the name of the hospital in NYC and that of the surgeon who did the robotic surgery?
