Treating Long Covid as Inflamation Based

Posted by gregorb @gregorb, May 29 11:15am

Thought that Long Covid is inflammation driven in attacking our bodies? Please correct me if I'm wrong. If so, why aren't the treatments based more on that, if clinically effective. Sure, you can talk about the issue of possible addiction to pain and inflammation killing medications and doctors reluctantance to treat that way,
even with monitoring. But guessing quality of life may be more important to many of us at this point. Especially for seniors.

Hi @bresue. Ive had more challenging couple of wks and havnt read all posts so hope not repeating. One huge hurdle is our lab values changing significantly, appearing normal, not performed level needed….May suggest have your lab values in hand that showed the first doctor as that seems to shorten the @get them to see” process🤞 Quickest healing to you🌈

I too had so much inflammation that I had pain that would wake me up at 5am. I am now on Low Dose Naltrexone which flushes most of the inflammation out and vastly decreases my pain. It also give me a burst of energy so I can do more before I run out of steam for the day. I started on 1 mg per day which made me super sleepy for about two weeks...then it gave me insomnia if I took it at bedtime. I now take it every morning and have slowly worked up to 3 mg. It give me more vivid dreams but no other side effects. Lots of docs are using it to treat inflammation in other diseases as well.

Lol that you mention about lab values in hand as that seemed to be the most difficult. I created a G drive on my computer which I now can go in various doctor and hospital patient portals, download my labs, patient summaries, and procedures. I also downloaded G-drive app to my phone and can now access all my info while at the doctor's office. I tried for the first time yesterday and it was great.

It's at the cellular level. They've never found anything with me either.I did however at one point manage to get Pnuemonia,Bronchitus,Shingles, AND another hit from covid. One doctor gave me a dosage of prednizone.Felt really good to 'be normal' again, even if it was only like that for a week or so.That was last year.
Following Dr Paul Anderson o0n Youtube now for at least three years. He knows what's happening with the reasons why it's happening. He's awesome.I feel so much better now...only 'some' damage needing to be corrected. And I'm positive his regimes are legit.

I have all my labs. That is important when talking to doctors. The more I know about what my labs mean , the more I can suggest what I think I might need. Inflammation for example, has been an issue. Epstein Barr Virus was reactivated when I first got Long COVID. No doctor seemed to think that relevant and now there have been numerous studies about the correlation between Long COVID and EBV. Other blood work was weird. My vitamin B!2 and my Folate numbers were crazy, neutrophils, leulocytes, and on and on...
