Shower head advice.

Need advice for shower head with filter and low mist please. Brand and where to purchase. Anyone have a favorite they use?

I bought an all-metal showerhead and boil it periodically.
There are lots of different ones on Amazon. I chose HammerHead Showers® ALL METAL 2 Inch High Pressure Shower Head.
It works great.

I have the Pall contact information if anyone is interested. I have not (yet) tried it, but it seems like the community is happy enough with it. However, it’s pricey.

I use a handheld showerhead that has large holes and hold the showerhead close to my body so there is little vapor.

If I am staying in a rental condo, I take the showerhead off completely. It’s like a Tahitian waterfall!!

I also take very short showers because in my New York City apartment I do not have a window and a fan in my bathroom. It can be done 🙂 I made a video on it.

Yes, I also use a hand held shower head and hold it as you do, close to the body when showering.
After using it I place it in the tub in a hanging position where it is allowed to drain, as much as possible, allowing the water from the hose, the shower head etc. to drain out. I also shake it to help get the water out from it. Hopefully that helps it to dry out better than hanging it back up on the ' hand held shower head hanger'.
Good idea, taking the shower head off in the rental condo....I wonder if one could try to do that, if one can, when in a hotel/motel. Probably the maintenance engineer in the facility could help with that if need be.

I've used Aquamedix but switched to Safe Water Products a few years back. Their smaller one works well in our travel trailer and I loved that I can buy replacement filters one at a time, unlike the Aquamedix. I use the 886 Plus in my home shower and the smaller 886 in the travel trailer. I use a sediment filter in front of it and it makes my filters last a long time and the flow stays good. In the camper, we have a filter that we connect directly to the water at the site and that catches sediment, etc. as well.

We just got back from a three-week camping trip, and I was able to use the handheld in all the campgrounds but one in their handicapped showers -- they all had handheld wands I could just unscrew and put mine on. It was great for places where we didn't have full hookups and I didn't want to fill up our gray tanks too quickly.

Their products are still available on Amazon, but they've gone to selling them through their own shopping portal. If I'm in a situation where I can't use my showerhead, though, I either take a bath or you can do as Dr. Falkinham suggested in a recent presentation and put a mesh laundry bag or a Ziploc with a hole in it over the showerhead. It will reduce the aerosolization of the water that creates the droplets we're more likely to inhale.

I spent the first few years after I was diagnosed worrying myself constantly about exposure from the shower. It's so nice not to worry anymore!!

Laurel, do the safe water products filter down to .2 microns? Also, I couldn’t find them on the Amazon website.

Hi, Mary Jane! It's actually .15 microns, so even better than .2

They are still on Amazon, but it is better for them (and actually us as consumers) to use their new shopping system. I have one coming today that is three-day shipping, so that's really good. And, as I mentioned, if you use the NTM-25 code on their site, you get 25% off and pay no tax or shipping.

You have to cough up $1500 or more all at once to get them! I am using Aquamedix which also filters down to .2 microns. They cost about $230 for four month filter.

Thank you. I will check into this one. I was told the only one that filtered down to .2microns was pall filters

This does not filter! It looks like all it does is open up so you can clean what builds up. You need a filter. I may be wrong but that is what I thought I saw.

Not all of us can afford the expensive .2 filters. So it's another option. It's a one-time purchase so you don't have to spend the $50 a month on filters, and it helps reduce our exposure.

The original poster asked about a low mist shower head and this fits the bill and more.

There is no perfect solution. I believe the Pall filters are the only ones actually tested for the removal of NTM. I saw that Linda Esposito said she has the contact information on how to purchase a PALL filter.
