I've used Aquamedix but switched to Safe Water Products a few years back. Their smaller one works well in our travel trailer and I loved that I can buy replacement filters one at a time, unlike the Aquamedix. I use the 886 Plus in my home shower and the smaller 886 in the travel trailer. I use a sediment filter in front of it and it makes my filters last a long time and the flow stays good. In the camper, we have a filter that we connect directly to the water at the site and that catches sediment, etc. as well.
We just got back from a three-week camping trip, and I was able to use the handheld in all the campgrounds but one in their handicapped showers -- they all had handheld wands I could just unscrew and put mine on. It was great for places where we didn't have full hookups and I didn't want to fill up our gray tanks too quickly.

If I'm in a situation where I can't use my showerhead, though, I either take a bath or you can do as Dr. Falkinham suggested in a recent presentation and put a mesh laundry bag or a Ziploc with a hole in it over the showerhead. It will reduce the aerosolization of the water that creates the droplets we're more likely to inhale.
I spent the first few years after I was diagnosed worrying myself constantly about exposure from the shower. It's so nice not to worry anymore!!

I had asked Dr. Falkinham if I needed to worry about the carbon in the stage filters of the sediment filter, and he said because it's before the .2 micron Safe Water (or whatever one you use) showerhead, it wasn't a problem. I just looked for one that had extra filters for it and would work with my handheld. It was about $30, as I recall.
Yes, I am. I have the 886 for my travel trailer and when we take trips by car as well. I have been using the 886 plus in my home shower. I may eventually just use the 886. It has half the capacity of the plus, but I take short showers and don't shower every day, especially in the winter. For comparison the 886 will filter 1360 gallons approximately and the 886 plus will filter double that amount. It is larger -- longer particularly, which is why I started with the smaller one for our travel trailer.

Where are you purchasing the sediment filters you are using with your safe water products? Are you still happy with the safe water products?
