Starting Forteo/teriparatide

Posted by vinnyv @vinnyv, Sep 11, 2024

Starting this drug in the next week. Thinking about taking it in the late afternoon/early evening. Hoping to sleep off/thru any side effects. Any comments/recommendations on a this approach? Thanks!

I been on Teriparatide 9 Months and take it later like 7pm as I worried about side effects but I never really noticed any so taking a day off and going for morning from now on and getting it out of the way, Hope it works good for you as I have had no bone scan yet been a year since I was diagnosed and Rheumatologist won't do one for one year he said.

I've been on it 10 months. Only agreed to take it 1 year the maybe Reclast. Having a DEXA text in Oct to compare 1 year results. If no or little reprove may skip the Reclast all together. I also take 1st thing each AM. No side affects.

I’ve just finished 2 years of Sondelbay a generic form of forteo, dxa last week showed absolutely no gains, I’m shocked. Consultant wants me to do zoledronic acid next to seal in gains even though there hasn’t been any. Has anyone else experienced this with forteo where no improvement has happened? I was improving on no meds prior to this.

I'm coming up on 1 year dxa. They want me to do Reclast to solidify any improvements. I told them if there's no improvements I'm not doing it. I'm on 10 months of Teriparatide, a generic form of Forteo.
