Where can I get 7% hypertonic saline without a prescription? My insurance doesn't cover it. And the brand I was able to get on Amazon is no longer available.
Hello, if you read through the posts here, you will probably find an answer. Sad to say, the brands we are familiar with are often unavailable - anywhere. My pharmacy had the pulmonologist change my prescription to 4ml or 5ml 7% saline vials for inhalation because they never knew what was going to be available.
By the way, my local pharmacy sells it without prescription as well, provided you also use one or more nebulized medications. I just confirmed that there is no label on the box requiring a prescription to dispense.
Lots of options when I searched Amazon for "sodium chloride 7 percent for nebulizer". Also, my local Costco was able to order for me. Now the local pharmacy gets it after some doing.
@scoop Thank you for your reply. I did not see any 7% hypertonic saline.....only 3% and it is expensive for a 30 day supply. I will check with my local CVS.
I get Based Laboratories 7% on Amazon -- they often run promotions. Also just recently found this on Amazon which is also less expensive
Resp-ease 7%,box of 60

@mjb24 Thank you for the Resp-ease recommendation. I used to get the 7% Base Laboratories 25 vials in a box....they are no longer available.. Today there are 100 vials of 5 ml at $70. I will look into Resp-Ease.

I just looked at Amazon and only found 1 option. Base labs, which I've used before, just had 3% at Amazon, but does sell 7% direct from site. I like it because it's 5cc. I'm hoping they add back on Amazon before I have to order again.

Base labs 7% saline 50 vials is currently on sale on their site for $39.99. If you buy more than you need for short-term use, just refrigerate it like they do in the hospital.
Thanks, Sue. I actually ordered the Base labs 7% 100 vials on Amazon as I was able to use a credit I had and made a good purchase. So you recommend that I refrigerate the majority of them.

We have had better luck with Walgreens, Walmart, and od our regional grocery chains Hy-Vee and Cub.
@jcwest211. Base Laboratories is another option. 5ml vials, 25 Pack $23.99. Here is the link https://baselaboratories.com/products/base-labs-nebulizer-saline-solution-vials-25pk
