@lep777, I'm sorry to read about all that you are experiencing. I have a retinal vein occlusion (leaky vein) that has caused some damage to my vision. I see a dark cloudy donut shape in one eye, and it is permanent. My other eye has, over time, compensated pretty much for the cloudy visual area. Even though I don't see as well as I want, and I get annoyed by the fuzzy area, my vision tests score a 20/20 with my glasses.
Is one or both of your eyes affected? Is there a chance that as time passes that your good eye will compensate?
I might have some better answers for you after my next Dr appt....I am also very frustrated with the one eye being very blurry.. just hoping and praying that my good eye stays GOOD....and hoping and trusting God to heal my bad one...even if it means a cornea transplant. I haven’t actually talked to my Dr about THAT yet. He did say that I might have to see a cornea specialist. As much as I would like to be able to go to the Mayo Clinic...I will probably have to find a Dr in PA.

Hi, @lep777 - I can imagine it would be tough to not see properly out of one eye. My father has blurry vision in one eye and has been told by a doctor recently that it may never resolve, which I think has been really tough to process. I don't think my dad's totally given up, however.
Hi, @sue26. I see that you have just joined Connect and I want to want to welcome you.
I am going to assume that this is a fairly recent recommendation for you. And so I have found some information from Mayo Clinic's health Library that will give you an overview about Cornea Transplant. https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cornea-transplant/about/pac-20385285
I hope that you got an idea of what to expect, however keep in mind that different clinics/surgeons can vary slightly on technique for procedures and follow-up.
Have you met with the surgeon who will be doing the procedure?

Hello Rosemary,
Thank you for replying so quickly. I met with the surgeon a year ago and then recently had a letter to say I was booked for a cataract op followed up 4 weeks later for the transplant but not had any discussions.
I will check your link out in the morning as it is 2.57am in uk.
I'm not sure of the procedure only that he change it to doing both ops at the same time. I feel a bit worried about it all.
Sue
I am just looking into options...if that is what he says..he has already told me that the haze may never go away..
How are you feeling about the possibility the haze may never go away, @lep777?

When is your next doctor appointment?
Follow up with surgeon today ...going to ask about seeing a cornea specialist...I REFUSE to give up!!!
Can anyone comment on corneal transplants. I've been told I need both eyes doing and don't know what to expect.
