Can anyone relate?
I was desperate for answers for sudden onset ataxia that my doctors cannot find the cause for. My pcp suggested Mayo. I followed the process for neurology at Rochester. I never even got a written turn down letter.
I eventually called and they told me that I had no been selected to be seen. I called Jacksonville because they acted like I needed to do that myself. I was on hold very briefly and then told no, I asked if it was possible for my request to be looked at by physicians. She said, No, we are appointment schedulers. ??

@redbreeze,
It is frustrating when you cannot get an appointment, but Mayo receives more appointments then they can accommodate.
Is your PCP willing to do a referral to Mayo? It does not guarantee an appointment, but might help if PCP send the request with additional medical information.
