Has anyone experienced depression after taking praluent?

Has anyone experienced depression after taking praluent? I recently started this PCSK9 after being on rosuvastatin for 3 weeks and experiencing such crippling fatigue and muscle soreness. I’m a very active 62 year old male and am trying to manage my new life after having had a stent placed in LAD.

Yes, thank you for asking. It went away in 2 to three hours. I did not feel well all day, but tonight, I am feeling much better!

I called the pharmacist and he couldn't tell me what would be the most likely allergen...polysorbate, histadine, or the actual medication.

He also told me there is a statin out now that recently became generic. It is very powerful and has fewer side effects: pitavastin. I will first try the generic Crestor once a week and see what happens. He said people don't always take it daily.

Maybe this will help people. I will put it in a post tomorrow.

Whew, so glad it went away @kallettla .
Good thinking to ask your pharmacist. Have you been able to have a conversation with your doctor about your reaction? Maybe they’ve heard of this before, or can help you figure out which thing caused your problems. I agree, anything to help other people not having the problem is a good thing.

For a time, I took 5mg rosuvastatin (generic Crestor) two times a week. My understanding is it is a statin that stays in our bodies 3-4 days so that type of schedule makes sure there’s always some. Fingers crossed your trial run of Crestor goes well!

This scare of anaphylaxis with tingly lips and tongue was your 2nd injection? Did anything happen on your first?

Pins and needles to hear more. 😀

Dear friend, forgive me I just scanning these posts and not reading them word for word. So I may be way off track. But let me tell you what happened to me one year ago. First, the answer is custom compounding medicine without the added preservatives. Okay, so here's what happened. Having had perfect health my 65 years, I ended up in the ER twice with BP climbing over 200+. Then 5 drugs later, it kept escalating and I went into depression. My doctors and family told me to see a shrink, but my research said something different. I've had raging chemical allergies for 2 years now, and they told me to watch out for preservatives in medicines. I never knew how they would make me feel, but I promise you this, with custom compounding of my hypertensive medicine, I am a perfectly normal, functioning, well-adjusted person. I'll stop here because this is a lot to take in. All the best to you. And feel free to ask any questions you wish. All the best, Julie
