Has anyone had severe nasal congestion taking Repatha?
I just took my first injection of Repatha. About 4 days after, I woke with terrible nasal congestion, which has persisted for a week. My ENT suspected it was a reaction to the drug.

Hello @con123 ,
Did your ENT provide explanation as to why this would be happening? I didn’t have your particular side effect but do hear others comment about it. It can be outright annoying, can’t it? I am learning side effects may be an indication of something bad or even good happening, your body responding to the drug. Was it your ENT that prescribed Repatha?
@con123, That happened after my first 2 doses of Repatha, in fact I felt for 4 days like I had a cold. After a month, it didn't happen again - when I looked it up, it was one of the top 5 side effects.
In about the 3rd month, I had a backache for a couple days after 2 injections, but that is also gone.
Now, after almost a year on Repatha, my only symptom is feeling very tired the day of or day after my injection.
I'll live with it - statins we're a nightmare for me, and Repatha lowered my LDL by over 50% at 5 months. Waiting on the latest lipid panel results.
My cardiologist prescribed it due to statin intolerance. I deferred starting it due to chronic sinusitis since nasal congestion, cold and flu like symptoms are a common side effect. I had surgery to fix the sinusitis, and when I was feeling better, started Repatha. 3 or 4 days after the injection, I woke up severely congested. The ENT said to discuss it with my cardiologist as a probable side effect.
