ddMVAC neoadjuvant, has anyone experienced this type of chemotherapy ?

Posted by skybolt @skybolt, 3 days ago

My husband has T2 with mixed histology, mostly urothelial cancer cells, about 40% adrenal cancer cells and 5% trophoblastic. TURBT removed 6cm CIS multifocal tumor and a few papillary removed. He is scheduled for 6 cycles of this chemo mixture. The doctor wants to do cystectomy following chemo. He is a healthy 68 year young. Can anyone share their experience with this type of chemotherapy? We would appreciate it . Thank you.

I had four cycles of adjuvant DDMVAC after RC in 2024-11. 2024-12 through 2025-03. Two cycles were delayed because of acute kidney injury (more likely as DDMVAC depletes white blood cells) and I was hospitalized. I also had cellulitis above my upper lip after DDMVAC 4. Aside from these events, I lost almost all my hair, I struggled with horrible constipation, nausea and fatigue.

I was scheduled for six but finished four cycles. The oncologist PA told me very few patients complete all six due to toxicity.

Thank you for that info. I hope you are doing well now.

Jaxfl, was an immunotherapy drug included in the adjuvant chemo ?

REPLY

No. Those are only included in clinical trials for neoadjuvant treatment or confirmed visible disease in line two treatment after RC.

I am doing fairly well. Nivolumab gives me headaches, fatigue and also occasional diarrhea/abdominal pain and dry skin. But 95% better than DDMVAC.
