Who has had Maze Procedure to correct Afib?

I had mine done in October 2010 Dr. Lishan Aklog, at the then St. Joseph’s Heart and Lung Institute. I also had my mitral valve replaced. Every was good for 14.5 years.

I had my mitral valve replaced and a MAZE procedure at Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles CA October 2020. Had afib for several years prior to procedure with 3 failed cardioversions. After surgery and 2 more cardioversions I have been in normal sinus rhythm since December 2020 and feeling great.

What happened after 14.5 years? And how long were you on blood thinners and are you still on blood thinners?

Thanks for your reply Never on blood thinners after surgery. No medications of any kind. Between April 10th and 11th all my heart rates jumped 20-30 bpm like a light switch. I was in Afib 100% of the time back in 2010 now it appears that is back.
