THANKS of all of you kind people for your concern
Thank you @jms7
Thank you @colleenyoung
I want to say that I started to suffer with having excess of mucus 3 months ago and it last for 2 months WITHOUT anther any symptom. after that I began to find difficulty in breath and i feel that my lung could not do its function because of i feel mucus get accumulating in airways.
I do not have anther symptoms like fever or cold . just continually excess of mucus in which i find difficulty in throw it out and recently problem in breathing.
I did swab throat and it found diplococci and candida and also did x -ray for chest
I sent those tests to the doctor and give me medicine;azithromycine 500 mg antibiotic for 3 days and montelukast and levocetirizine.
I take these medicines for 2 weeks but I could not get better.

I want to add if it is safe to use Expectorant medicine like mucosolvan to help in expelling phlegm But i am afraid if this can give bad impact because i do not have coughing to push mucus out SO may using expectorant medicine would not be right choice in my case.

thanks for your kindness gentle people

thank you dear. you are so sweet and helpful. fortunately, I do not take any other medicines or over the counter medicines either. I will certainly go to my doctor and ask more questions now that I am learning about all this. I really appreciate You, this forum, and all the NICE caring people here! HUGS! Marianne

@marzz
I think we share me and you the same symptoms like the excess mucus without cough and GERD

but are you trust that enzyme is the perfect medicine to treat?

we may. I do think I have some gerd issues, I was eating before bed a lot and recently stopped that habit! I need to stay on track and do all the right things to reduce flare ups. it is true that we are what we eat!

Thank you for your many suggestions to help relieve various symptoms of IPF. I have had ILD since 2012 viewed on cat scans not of pulmonary but incidental to bone scan, abdominal scans, etc. My doctor did nothing and dismissed any significance to my health. Fast forward to 2016 and again same scenario, only this time SOB and cough were gaining my attention. Since November, I've had pft's & visits to pulmonologist but he waited until February to order oxygen. My symptoms have been getting worse but it seems like the disease is racing along. From no oxygen to continuous O2 and up to 05 with activity is of concern to me. Can this IPF get worse this quickly. Or was it getting worse all along. I'm a petite woman & losing weight isn't a benefit to me. I feel tethered to this oxygen and getting it right when I leave this house is imperative! The pulmonologist is satisfied that Esbriet and O2 are the way to improvement. I'm not sure how he arrived @ the dx.
May I have your thots(and I don' t ask for medical info, just your accumulated experience with lung disease)-- I feel like I am drowning.

Hi everyone, I am a 19 year old male. I’ve never had any breathing problems but today, in the morning I felt some phlegm in my throat so I just let it all out without a coughing sensation or anything as such. I noticed that the colour of my phlegm was somewhat brownish. Also, I had a cough a week back which lasted for nearly 3 weeks with yellow phlegm but it got away on its own (I did take some normal cough syrup though). Another point to note is that I live in Delhi, India and our city is often associated with a very high level of air pollution. I have attached a picture of my phlegm. Please help me regarding what it might be and what diagnostic tests should I go for. Also, English is not my primary language so I am sorry for any errors. Thank you!:)

Dear Hisham,

I too suffer from thick mucous which causes trouble breathing. Here is a rundown of the situation: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/throat-radiation-after-effects-aspiration-suffocating-mucous/

Have you tried a nebulizer? A 7% Saline solution in a nebulizer really helps break it up. My problems started with radiation though, and antibiotics do help me...which is a problem now. This is because whenever I quit taking them, the mucous becomes so thick that it becomes life-threatening.

Recently, and after much researching, I discovered an increasing condition called, "nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease," or NTM. Please research this, as this is the next step for me. Although after having a bronchoscopy there were many bacteria the lab tested for, this bacteria was not one of them. If this is what is causing my problem, it would explain much. According to the site for NTM, this condition is increasing by 8% per YEAR!

Hoping you get better!
