Lichen Sclerosus: Any other women dealing with this disease?

Posted by Kitten92 @kitten92, May 22, 2017

Is anyone out there dealing with this disease? I am currently using a compound ointment that my oncologist prescribed but I'm looking for possible lazer treatments or anything else that might now be available.

Why switch meds? I was diagnosed years ago and thought perhaps there were newer better products?

Clobetasol does thin the skin. Use it sparingly. It relieves for a while.

Hello yes Clobetasol make dark skin very light and it made small bumps along the Vulva.
I have had it for 1year6months and today I see open sores inside of my vagina.
This is the saddest invader a sexual active person can have. I am 50 and lost, I have a flare up every other month or every time I have sex. I wish it was some cream I can use without steroids.
I need help as a young lady in a relationship for 16 years....I am going to lose him.

@mzleah, @kanaazpereira, I too have this in my girly region. What a pain and im told there's nothing they can do for it but watch it from afar..haha. Doctor gave me Clobetisol (sp) salve and im done with my visit. Im supposed to be a good girl and go in e ery 6 months for a check up but i have so many specialists im supposed to be seeing that i cant afford everything im supposed to be doing. I use the salve when i have a flare up and it takes away the pain and itching. (but not the scars) However, that crap stinks so much to me that i cant stand using it for very long. If you have heard anything new can you let me know?
Aint life grand?
Thanks, Judy

I found the best thing that worked for me is topical coconut oil. Soothing and healing! Also coconut wet wipes

I’ve been using Kindra Vaginal Lotion daily for years it is amazing. Kinder has other products that are helpful as well.

@fdixon63 I’m so glad you’re doing better! It is mainly for UTI’s. I don’t know the name of it, but A Z O is in big letters on the box. It numbs the area inside of you and where the urine comes out. Really help you keep your cool when urinating. No hitting the ceiling!
I sure hope you can get over this disease soon!

@fehrlady, where do you get coconut wet wipes? Never seen them sold here in Ontario, Canada …

I get them at Marshall's or on Amazon. They are advertised as facial wipes, but are so soothing

My gynecologist suggested coconut oil since I was leery of using hormone creams.
