Lichen Sclerosus: Any other women dealing with this disease?
Is anyone out there dealing with this disease? I am currently using a compound ointment that my oncologist prescribed but I'm looking for possible lazer treatments or anything else that might now be available.

The only thing that works for me is Lisepten. I use coconut or jojoba. It's instant relief for me.
So glad to find this group. I am 64 and was diagnosed 6 weeks ago. Clobetasol has not helped. I have not only white tissue between my vagina and anus, but also ulcers around my anus. So painful.
Biopsy of white area and two ulsers confirmed LS and no bad cells, thankfully. But the sores are multiplying and I haven’t seen much on this from prevention to healing.
My GYN said to go back to steroid after biopsies heal hoping using it longer will work. I am not convinced. I am hoping to see my dermatologist soon.
I will take any advice on preventing and treating ulcers.
Thank you
Hello!
I see a GYN once a year I have also been to a dermatologist twice. Biopsies as well.
The only thing that has helped for me
in between using Clobetasol is ESTROGEN cream Recommended by both my GYN and dermatologist. Of course you need a prescription. Maybe discuss with your GYN.
For me, stress causes flare ups. I feel the estrogen works better.
Take care!
Try coconut oil. It's harmless and soothing and worth trying.
Hi pns999. Ask your Doc about StrataMGT ointment. Its a semipermeable wet wound coating. It may help those awful painful blisters heal. Also, there is a spray version of lidocaine. While short lived, it can give some relief. The strataMGT has to be ordered and is pricey, but each tube lasts a long time. It really helped me, when nothing else had worked. Coconut oil is not semipermeable and prevents the air exchange needed for the tissue (your blisters) to heal. Its good for the dryness though, but so is the estrogen cream. Good luck!!!
My sister has that and travels from Illinois to Tampa to see a doctor. She was going 2 x’s a year, now she’s down for annual visits and her treatment worked. The dr is Jill Krapf. She’s number one in the field

I have using EMU OIL for years with great success. It gives almost instant relief and in a few days, it is in remission. It will keep in the fridge for years. I always have it on hand at room temperature for the next flareup.
Good luck on your journey
Where do you get EMU OIL? Does your doctor know you use it? How did you hear of using it? Any studies out there. I’m willing to try anything.
Yes. I’ve been dealing with it for about 10 years.
